Dwayne Johnson sparks fans’ reactions after taking credit for the WrestleMania pivot

WWE dropped the WrestleMania XL: Behind the Curtain documentary last week, and fans have hilarious reactions to Johnson taking credit for the change of plans in WrestleMania XL. After the wrestler-actor returned to WWE earlier this year to join the Board of Directors of TKO Group Holdings, he was also scheduled to fight against Roman Reigns in the main event subsiding for Cody Rhodes.

When it was announced that Cody Rhodes was replaced by The Rock for the main event, fans booed Dwayne Johnson , as the majority of them wanted Rhodes to ‘finish the story’ and believed that he deserved the fight. It did not sit right with the audience that The Rock would fight Reigns and, thus, change plans. The one-hour special showcased the intense buildup to the main event.

Dwayne Johnson, in the documentary, expressed his concern over the headlining of the main event amid the backlash and said

I told those guys, ‘Here’s what I believe we should do. I believe we should go Roman-Cody. Will Cody finish his story, and take care of those fans because it’s critical.

Dwayne Johnson also shared that he did not like that the fans were upset, and it bugged him, adding that it’s not how he operates his career. The actor and professional wrestler said that he had two choices: either to truck through this [him headlining the main event] or they don’t; he noted they went with the latter.

Fans, however, do not feel the same emotion as Dwayne Johnson, as they went ahead to share some of the hilarious reactions on The Rock, taking credit for making Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns’ main event happen. Wrestling News’ X account has shared some of the funniest reactions.
