Fans from around the world have heavily praised the British science fiction, Doctor Who, and the American science fiction film series, Star Trek. Both shows are critically appreciated. Now, the current showrunner of Doctor Who, Russell T Davies, wants both universes to join hands and offer their respective fans a crossover episode that they can cherish forever.

Davies recently revealed his interesting wish when he was joined by the executive producer helming projects from the Star Trek universe, Alex Kurtzman, on the panel at San Diego Comic-Con (via RadioTimes).

We would love to bring you a crossover episode and the way we can make that happen is the fans… The fans continue to make crossover art, and stories and continue to ask and push to bring these two universes together.

Both Davies and Kurtzman are eager to produce a crossover episode. However, they are waiting for the fans to contribute to the process first. It’s largely on fans whether Davies’ wish will ever become a reality. The showrunner promised a lot of entertainment to the viewers, if it actually happens.

Before fans can provide a comfortable space for Davies and Kurtzman to produce a crossover episode, they can enjoy the partnership in a limited-time game event. Starting from August 1, 2024, two games, Star Trek: Lower Decks – The Badgey Directive and Doctor Who: Lost in Time, will offer fans a crossover event that they can enjoy.

Both games are set to show two different perspectives to the gamers regarding the same wibbly-wobbly space-time MacGuffin. The event is bound to be worth it as they have been developed by Eastside Games, a studio that is known for making licensed spin-offs for television series brands.

Fans must be really excited about this video-game crossover because after many unsuccessful crossover promises over the past years, this is the first time that both universes have made it together. On top of that, gamers can collect their favorite characters during this event and enjoy the new respective stories.
