“There is a girl coming to your house that you’re going to marry”: George Clooney Was Warned Before He Met His Wife Amal Clooney For the First Time

George Clooney is one of the most established actors in the world. The American actor has received many awards throughout his glorious career over multiple years. Despite his achievements in his professional career, Clooney’s personal life was always kind of a bit of a rollercoaster. The Batman & Robin actor was pretty certain that he will never marry again until he met his current wife, Amal Clooney. In an interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, he revealed that he was warned that he was going to marry his current wife even before he ever met her.

George Clooney was warned that he will end up marrying his current wife before he even met her

In an interview with Drew Barrymore, George Clooney narrated the story of meeting his current wife. Barrymore asked the American actor about how he met his current wife, Amal Clooney, “What did you think when you met her?”. Clooney replied that he met her through a mutual friend at his place in Italy. He explained that before he met up with her, he received a call from his agent Brain Lourd.

Brian Lourd had already met up with Amal Clooney at another event. So he called up the American actor and said, “There is a girl coming to your house that you’re going to marry“. George Clooney obviously laughed it off back then and responded with, “That’s not gonna happen.” Little did he know back then that he will end up marrying the same person a year later.

The Midnight Sky actor said that he used to write letters to Amal Clooney

George Clooney was mesmerized after his first meeting with Amal Clooney. He revealed that they stayed up the whole night talking on their first meeting at his place in Italy. Then at the end, the duo exchanged emails so that she could share the pictures she took in the evening. Clooney said that he, “started writing her” after their first meeting. Barrymore cross-questioned the American actor at this point and asked, “like on pen and paper?” Clooney said, “Yeah, we still write letters. We just leave them on the pillow.”

The actor further described the story of their first date and how he proposed to Amal Clooney. He described his wedding proposal to Amal Clooney as a ‘disaster‘. The Monuments Men actor proposed to Amal Clooney in April 2014 and they got married later in September of the same year. The couple has been living a happily married life ever since.
