The original director of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix docuseries left the series. The reason for her departure was reported to be some conflicts between Bradley and the royal couple. Garrett Bradley joined the project after she gained a name for herself with her mini-series called Naomi Osaka.
However, her vision for the series was totally different from that of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. According to an industry insider who was closely associated with the production, they were unable to agree on the tone of the docuseries.
“Garrett wanted Harry and Meghan to film at home and they weren’t comfortable doing it,” the insider revealed. The insider also claimed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s own producer captured most of the footage before they hired a new director. The royal couple was reportedly spotted in New York City with their new director Liz Garbus and her crew.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix Docuseries to Premiere in December
The latest updates have revealed that the royal couple’s docuseries could be released sooner than expected. Earlier this week People reported that the docuseries is set to release in December 2022 on Netflix. After Garrett Bradley departs from the project, the couple hired the Oscar-nominated director Liz Garbus.
However, there were still some disagreements between them and the director. But Garbus’ ideas were more in line with what they wanted. The issues started arising after the couple started interfering with the editing of the content.
In her interview with Variety, Meghan Markle talked about working with Garbus. “It’s nice to be able to trust someone with our story, a seasoned director whose work I’ve long admired, even if it means it may not be the way we would have told it,” she said.
Reports claimed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry did not want the series to release this soon due to recent events. But Netflix did not agree with them and decided to release it in December.
