In December 2020, singer FKA Twigs filed a lawsuit against ex-boyfriend Shia LaBeouf, accusing the actor of “relentless abuse.” She accused Shia LaBeouf of sexually and physically assaulting and battering her and knowingly giving her a sexually transmitted disease. The two started dating after FKA Twigs played a role in his film Honey Boy in 2018 and ended their relationship in the spring of 2019. FKA Twigs described her relationship with Shia LaBeouf as “the worst thing I’ve ever been through in the whole of my life,” adding “I don’t think people would ever think that it would happen to me. Shia LaBeouf struggled to find work
On REAL ONES with Jon Bernthal, Shia LaBeouf revealed that he loaded up a gun and was going to end his life as he was going through the official court email. He talked about how he struggled to find work after the incident,
“I always had an inch left. I always had some f**king wiggle room, every time I f**ked up there was always a Brad Pitt on the phone. There was always like some, you know, a sundance. There was always alma. There was always wiggle room to get back into ego and this time there was no wiggle room.”
He explained how he always somehow managed to find work after his controversies but this time there was nothing. During another interview with Bishop Barron, he said that he feels like his “world has crumbled” and he “didn’t want to be alive anymore, nobody wants to talk to me, including my mother. My manager’s not calling. The agent’s not calling. I have not connected to the business anymore.” He also revealed that Jon Bernthal, Josh Brolin, and Sean Penn helped him come out of that dark place as they provided him with emotional support.

In a different interview, the actor talked about his “failings” with ex-partner FKA Twigs. He said,
“My failings with Twigs are fundamental and real, but they are not the narrative that has been presented. There is a time and a place to deal with such things, and I am trying to navigate a nuanced situation with respect for her and the truth, hence my silence.”
The actor explained that he didn’t even feel like going out after the accusations as people publicly called him out. The actor is now focusing on his mental health and is expected to stay out of the public’s eye for a while.
