“They all want to make money off him”: Industry Experts Sparks Concerns Over Jonathan Majors’ Future After He Was Found Guilty
Jonathan Majors was among the highly celebrated actors for his portrayal of Kang the Conquerer in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, until he was arrested this year in March.
Things have worsened for the actor post his last trial as Majors has been declared guilty by a Manhattan jury against the accusations of assault and aggravated harassment after a domestic dispute with ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. Industry experts are now expressing their concern over his acting career which might be destroyed if Majors faces a long time sentence.
Industry Experts’ Concerns Over Jonathan Majors’ Acting Career in Hollywood
Jonathan Majors‘s world has turned upside down as he went from being an incredibly commended actor to a person who has been involved in domestic violence. The news of the Creed star’s arrest became a major shocker for fans who couldn’t believe that the actor who played one of their favorite Marvel characters had harassed his former partner.
Jonathan Majors has been announced guilty of assault and aggravated harassment and he could face a potential jail time of up to a year. The actor has been fired by Marvel as well, and according to Business Insider, industry experts have expressed concern over Majors’ career which is claimed to be in a precarious state. Following the Magazine Dreams star’s arrest, no production company will likely hire Majors, and considering the Me Too Movement, his acting career might end.
“It’s all about Hollywood justifying. They all want to make money off him and the second that they think they can, they will. So it’s about giving them the cover, giving Hollywood the cover, to cast him again.”
However, another notable possibility the experts shared is about the entertainment industry’s concern over making money, for which they might cast Jonathan Majors. The actor might eventually come back to the industry as his controversy will likely earn attention.
Jonathan Majors Made a Wrong Decision By Refusing To Testify in His Trial
Another expert in crisis public relations and the founder of HeraldPR Juda Engelmeyer stated that Jonathan Majors’s decline to testify in the trial was quite evident that he had indulged in the assault and aggravated harassment.
According to the expert, the Devotion star believed he could easily brush off the allegations and would be declared innocent. Engelmeyer added:
“If what Johnathan Majors believes is right and his narrative events are true, he should have stood by it forwardly publicly and pushed it and promoted it proudly by saying, ‘I’m not afraid of this. I know this is a bad time in the world, and I know that people get in trouble. I might get canceled, but I am so sure I didn’t do this. This is what happened.”
The expert explained that Majors did take an active and strong stance in his trials to prove his innocence, hinting that he knew he was at fault. Various reports suggest that the Creed III actor might face prison for almost a year followed by his conviction.
