“They both want to move on”: Magic Mike is Reportedly a Huge Obstacle Between Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Amid Their Divorce Battle
After a fairytale romance, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan, who met on the sets of Step Up, announced their separation in 2018 via a joint social media statement. The two share a daughter, Everly, and had requested joint custody of their daughter. The former couple was declared single in 2019 despite their property assets and child custody agreement remaining under proceedings.
Since the split, Jenna Dewan has moved on with Steve Kazee, with whom she shares a 4-year-old son, Callum, and they are expecting their second child together. Channing Tatum is engaged to Zoë Kravitz and will be seen in her directorial debut, Blink Twice. However, insiders have shared that the former couple understands the messy divorce battle they are in but won’t back down until both parties agree.

Magic Mike actor Channing Tatum, who is now gearing up for his upcoming movie Blink Twice, directed by his fiancé and actress Zoë Kravitz, acknowledges the messy divorce battle with ex-wife Jenna Dewan. Insiders claim,
“Both have expressed that they have moved on and want this divorce to be over, yet they still can’t get on the same page. The twosome put on a good front for their 10-year-old daughter Everly, but it’s messy behind closed doors.”
Insiders shared with US Magazine that Tatum and Dewan only communicate when it is about their daughter and have maintained a great co-parenting relationship amid their messy split. A source shared with People that the former couple has not yet reached a stage where they hate each other and are working together for their daughter, despite money being one of their concerns.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar in 2018, Jenna Dewan talked about their co-parenting relationship and said,
“We’re just getting used to it. We’re in a very positive energy together, trying to be the best parents to Everly. We support each other.”

The actor had expressed that his separation from Dewan terrified him, adding that in the beginning, it was super scary as it turned one’s life on its axis.

According to People, the earnings of the Magic Mike movie franchise is now one of the reasons for their financial disputes, as Tatum produced and starred in all three movies, which not only received positive reviews but also went on to earn a good amount at the box office. A spin off reality television series; Finding Magic Mike premiered in 2021 which received positive response from the audience.
Seemingly, Jenna Dewan will not back down until she receives what she deserves and has claimed that the actor used their marital funds to acquire the intellectual property, so she is hoping for an equal division. She also claims that the actor has tried to hide his income from her. But the actor claims that it was his efforts, hard work, and dedication that made Magic Mike what it is today adding that he has never tried to hide or deny any share of community asset or income from Dewan.
The former couple has failed to reach a mutual conclusion, so they are heading for a trial, which is scheduled for December 8th. A source added,
“Both would like to get beyond these financial issues. Each is in love with someone else and wants to move ahead. He is trying to block any settlements. Their priority is to be respectful for the sake of their daughter.”
Talking about moving on, a source added that Tatum is happy with fiancé Zoë Kravitz and the trailer for their upcoming movie, Blink Twice, which was recently released has received positive reactions from the audience. Tatum shared that it’s the first time he is going to play a dark character, and he is very excited for the audience to see that.
