Samuel L. Jackson is one free-spirited man. The Pulp Fiction actor can be trusted with unapologetically saying what is on his mind without having any scruples about who he might end up offending. Back in June 2022, the 74-year-old didn’t think twice before trolling a Supreme Court Judge. He took a jibe at Justice Clarence Thomas for overturning the 1973 Roe v Wade jurisdiction that gave people the constitutional right to abortion. However, that wasn’t a standalone incident. He had formerly cracked a joke on Donald Trump that went on to stir a Twitter storm as well.

The day was June 15 in 2018 and Donald Trump was still the president of the United States. It was then that Samuel L. Jackson decided to wish the first man of his country a happy birthday, but it was not a traditional birthday wish at all. The Django Unchained actor took to his Twitter account to post a picture of After D*ck Mints, the latest sensation at the time, along with the caption,

“Must have been a party at The White House, Mitch [McConnell], Paul [Ryan], Rudy [Giuliani] & others were spotted wearing knee pads & carrying these lined up outside. Happy Birthday.”

He followed the concluding ‘happy birthday’ with a joker and a poop emoji as well. However, the cherry on top was the tagline “Going down?” on the pack of mints.

However, his little joke did not sit well with several people. The most high-profile person to call him out was Adam Baldwin. The Firefly actor replied to his tweet, saying, “Gay shaming?” Although Baldwin’s tweet has since been deleted, over 1,500 people replied to the Captain Marvel actor with conflicted emotions, with some in his support but some completely against.

Amidst all the backlash, there were apparently some offended users who took it upon themselves to report the Coach Carter actor’s tweet. A formal complaint was also made, as the actor himself shared a screenshot on his Instagram account that read,

“We have investigated the reported content and could not identify any violations of the Twitter Rules or applicable law. Accordingly, we have not taken any action at this time.”

The Hitman’s Bodyguard actor captioned the screenshot,

This post was a clear testament to how unfazed the actor was by all the trolling that came his way. And we love an unbothered king.
