‘This account doesn’t exist. Try searching for another‘: Is Elon Musk Making Ex Amber Heard Pay By Deleting Her Twitter Account After She Dragged Him Into Johnny Depp Trial?
Following Elon Musk’s takeover, actress Amber Heard may have deleted her Twitter account. The actress’ microblogging account is no longer visible. A few people have left Twitter since Elon Musk bought the company, including Amber Heard, his former girlfriend. Amber Heard’s handle, @RealAmberHeard, has since disappeared.
Heard announced her official Twitter handle in 2017 via her verified Facebook page, and during the same time, she and Elon Musk went public with their relationship. Their relationship got back on track after a brief split but reportedly ended for good in April 2018.
As a result of her Twitter exit becoming viral, Amber Heard has been the target of numerous jokes and trolls on the social media site.
Did Elon Musk Delete Ex-Beau Amber Heard’s Twitter Account?
Elon Musk has taken over Twitter for $44 billion in a much-anticipated deal this year. Musk’s leadership of Twitter raised many questions about how it would turn out. The platform’s integrity has been questioned for quite some time.
Many celebrities are leaving the microblogging platform after Elon Musk acquired it, so many accounts have already been suspended without notification. However, Amber Heard deleted her Twitter account just days after ex-beau Musk’s controversial takeover of the website.
After losing her highly publicized court case against Johnny Depp, Heard has stepped back from the spotlight. As part of his legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard, Johnny Depp has appealed a $2M verdict that Heard won against him, claiming that the jury’s decision was “overwhelmingly” in his favor and her single count of defamation was “erroneously” dismissed. During Depp’s famous 2020 libel case in the UK, Musk’s name was dragged into the trial, where he accused Heard of having an affair with Musk while the couple was still married.
Many questions and opinions are being circulated about Amber Heard’s account deletion on Twitter, which is alleged to have been the result of Musk’s actions. However, the Aquaman star is still visible on Instagram.
Similarly, on Friday, Gigi Hadid announced that she would leave Twitter. To share the news with her followers, she took to Instagram.
Kathy Griffin’s Twitter Account Got Suspended
As a result of impersonating Elon Musk on Twitter, Kathy Griffin’s account was suspended. The new Twitter chief announced that accounts that impersonate Musk will be permanently suspended after Griffin and others changed their display names to “Elon Musk.” Musk tweeted on Sunday that unless the impersonation is a parody, the person behind it will be suspended. In addition, he said there would not be a warning before the suspension, as was the case before.
Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying “parody” will be permanently suspended

However, Musk said changing the name of a verified account could lead to a temporary loss of the blue check.
Any name change at all will cause temporary loss of verified checkmark

Griffin told Bloomberg that she had changed her display name and profile picture to a photo of Musk. Most people would assume it was Musk’s account if they didn’t look closely. While appearing on Ask The Question with Brian Karem, the comedian, who is also Amber Heard’s friend, shouted accusations at Johnny Depp and his legion of fans immediately after Virginia’s pro-Depp judgment.
Despite a jury’s verdict, Griffin supported Heard’s narrative of alleged abuse and even followed in Heard’s footsteps by bringing up allegedly old Johnny Depp allegations. There is a perception among fans that pro-amber accounts are making mistakes of impersonation on Twitter and getting banned.

If only there were some system of verification available to a segment of the user base most prone to be impersonated. Is it possible you could build something like that for the platform.

After being suspended from Twitter, Kathy Griffin returned via her dead mother’s account to poke fun at Musk. After Griffin’s mother Maggie’s death, Musk received a tweet from her previously inactive account.
Griffin wrote,
“I’m back from the grave to say… #FreeKathy,” later clarifying in a separate tweet, “Oh, by the way, this is KG. I’m tweeting from my dead mother’s account.”
However, some users claimed that Griffin had created a new account under the guise of her mum. Twitter has become the new roller-coaster for almost everyone worldwide as new CEO Musk is firing people, overhauling rules, and suspending many accounts on Twitter. Some celebrities have already started using other social media platforms to connect with their fans and have left Twitter.
