“This is not going to work”: Sandra Bullock Confessed She Was Wrong About Her $685 Million Movie That Had Her Scared After a Disaster Test Screening

The Academy Award-winning movie Gravity was directed by the talented director Alfonso Cuaron. The movie spoke about hope in one of the most unexpected ways and even went on to take seven Oscars home. Both George Clooney and Sandra Bullock were critically acclaimed for their fantastic performance in Gravity. It took almost four years to complete the movie.
During an interview with The Guardian, the Academy Award-nominated Mexican director spoke about the technicalities of the masterpiece. He mentioned-
“The thing is, I’m not a technological person. When I finished the screenplay, I thought: ‘We can do this in about a year.’ It’s a simple story of a woman in space alone. For me, it was a small, intimate film – yes, with some visual effects, but that was it. Every day we thought; This is not going to work. It was a process of trial and error and little, little hints of hope, and also a lot of mistakes. The only test screening that we had, months before the film was finished, was a disaster.”
Both Sandra Bullock and Alfonso Curaon were doubtful about the appreciation and success of Gravity. The Speed star had said-
“We had no idea if it would be successful. You’d explain that it was an avant-garde, existential film on loss and survival in space and everyone would be like: ‘Ok…’ It didn’t sound like a film people would be drawn to.”
Sandra Bullock was not the first choice for the lead in Gravity, instead, Angelina Jolie and Natalie Portman were supposed to be roped in for the role of Ryan Stone. During an interview with the media outlet Collider, Sandra Bullock said-
“I was always longing to do, emotionally and physically, what my male counterparts always got to do. I just felt envious, every time I saw a movie that I was in awe of, and it was usually a male lead. And those kinds of roles weren’t available. They just weren’t being written.”
According to The Lost City actor, working on the sets of the space drama Gravity was one of the most challenging tasks as she was struggling with depression during that time.

During an interview with ELLE, Sandra Bullock spoke about the idea of coming back with Keanu Reeves for a project. The Proposal actor said-
“I would love nothing more than to do a comedy with Keanu before we die. Just laugh with him. He’s funny. We can be seventy-five — it’ll be even better than, like an old-people Cocoon thing. We play two funny old people. A road trip. Just put us in an RV as old people. It’ll be the bookend of Speed! We’ll just be driving really slowly. Pissing the world off. There’s our movie.”
With all the speculation around Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, the latter still believes that she would always want to be friends with the John Wick star and feels they are better as friends. The actor mentioned-
“We just get to grow up together on parallel roads and tip our hats and meet for a dinner and try to work together. And the longer time goes on, the more in awe I am of the human being. Would I have been able to say that if he had dumped me and made me angry? Probably not.”
Both Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock are ill-fated in the matter of love as she became a victim of infidelity by her ex-husband and the Matrix actor lost his lost his partner to the hands of death.
