“This is the best scene from The Flash”: Ahead of Blue Beetle Release, DC Fans Brand This Ben Affleck Scene the Best Scene in $268M Movie
The Flash proved to be a box office disaster for DC Studios, with the Ezra Miller starrer movie only managing $268 million in worldwide collection.
The summer was wonderful for the likes of Tom Cruise, Margot Robbie, and Cillian Murphy, as their movies drew crowds in numbers and comfortably crossed the half-a-billion collection mark. However, it wasn’t too kind to the 13th installment in the DC Extended Universe.
The adventures of Barry Allen, who this time uses his superpowers to travel back in time to save his family, did little to get the moviegoers talking positively about the movie. However, one particular scene still somehow managed to stand out.
What DC Fans Said About Ben Affleck’s Scene in The Flash
DCEU is trending yet again, as Blue Beetle has hit the theaters, featuring Xolo Maridueña and Bruna Marquezine in leading roles. There’s already a lot of excitement to catch a Latin-origin actor taking center stage in a DCEU movie for the first time.
The days preceding the release have also brought back discussions around The Flash and in particular Barry’s emotional scene with Ben Affleck.
The plot of the movie sees the Flash coax Batman out of retirement to rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian. This led to the return of Michel Keaton as Bruce Wayne from the Tim Burton Universe. There’s also a cameo appearance from another Batman, and as per many fans, it’s the best scene of the movie.
Ben Affleck’s Batman acts as a father figure to the Flash and gives him a very important life lesson, saying: “There’s nothing broken with you that needs to be fixed. Take it from an old guy who’s made a lot of mistakes. Don’t live your past. Live your life. Don’t let your tragedy define you.”

Here’s what fans said about Affleck’s mentoring of the speedy superhero:
It’s absurd that his swansong happened this year. There’s still sooo much more he could do in the role. He should have a long, Hugh Jackman-as-Wolverine/Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man like run as Batman.

Batfleck and BatKeaton both said the same exact line in their last appearance. That’s a nice touch

This is the only time Ben Affleck has ever been a good actor

At least Batfleck got some fire dialogue for his last scene ever

Affleck was so good as Batman and Bruce. His version of Batman carried his pain with him everywhere.

Unfortunately for the fans of Affleck’s Batman, The Flash marked the last time the Good Will Hunting actor would don the iconic cape. Interestingly, Affleck noted that it was his farewell performance in which he finally figured out how to play Batman.
Blue Beetle Hits the Theaters at a Very Crucial Time for DC Studios
Affleck may have left a lot of teary eyes during The Flash with his poignant performance. However, the movie is ultimately considered a huge flop and joins the long list of underwhelming DCEU movies.
In recent times, both Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam ($393.3 million) and Zachary Levi’s Shazam! Fury of the Gods ($125 million) has bombed spectacularly at the box office.
As such, the pressure will be huge on Blue Beetle (and co-CEO James Gunn) to make things a bit better before the curtains are drawn on the DC Extended Universe.
