“This is the same rating Trump gave his Presidency”: Jo Koy Shamelessly Rates His Golden Globes Hosting A+ for 1 Reason That Has Left Fans Puzzled
Jo Koy, who is an American comedian and actor, is back with his sense of humor again. The 81st Golden Globe Awards went down on January 7, 2024, at The Beverly Hilton in the heart of Beverly Hills, California. The ceremony aimed to honor the best in film and American television production of 2023.
Jo Koy was assigned as the host of this grand ceremony and he missed no chance of verbally applauding his own performance in front of all. He marked his hosting as A+ and referred to it as ‘historic’. However, fans did not agree with Koy’s statements. According to the fans, Jo Koy was being completely overconfident and narcissistic.
Fans’ Reaction to Jo Koy’s Statements
Though Jo Koy mentioned that there was a reason why he praised himself, he still could not convince the fans. Koy mentions that no one was assigned with the hosting duty until just ten days to the Golden Globes. After he accepted the duty, he had very little time on his hands to accomplish such a huge task.
Even after that, he got his writers after a day or two. It was a difficult circumstance for him, he said and still managed to end the ceremony on a good note, and that’s why he believes that he should get the credit for hosting the ceremony well.
Although Jo Koy had his reasons for thinking so highly of himself that day, fans over the internet are very sarcastic towards his statements. Some fans even peeled off their filters and compared Jo Koy’s self-obsession with the honorable 45th president of the United States of America, Mr. Donald Trump. They said this was exactly how Trump praised his presidency even though many of the American citizens were not happy under his period.
Many fans changed the A+ rating to D. Some were replying with a sarcastic question like “I read that grade correctly?”
Coincidentally this is the same rating Trump gave his presidency

His interview is terrible. There was nothing “historic” about him being an awful host. None of us watching were saying “gee, he’s awful but I’m just loving how historic this is.”

Wasn’t as bad as people are saying honestly

There was a tweet that said the hosting was not historic; it was awful instead. However, there were some fans who agreed with Koy’s claims and appreciated his skills over the internet.
Behind the Scenes of Jo Koy’s A+ Claim
Jo Koy was not utterly wrong when he praised himself for hosting the Golden Globes ceremony. Koy clearly mentioned that he only had ten days before the ceremony when he was assigned the position of the host. On top of that, he didn’t even get his writers on time, and that took two more days.
Hosting such a grand program with so little time in hand is a commendable job, and that’s what Jo Koy wanted the audiences to understand. He also told the Los Angeles Times that the Golden Globes reached him ten days before the ceremony and the monologue was written just one day before.
It was must have been difficult for him to coordinate so many things at once. Koy personally believes that he did a good job given the circomstances.
