Famous chat show host Howard Stern expressed his views on Jo Koy’s debut as the Golden Globe host. Reportedly, the media personality was chosen to host the Award ceremony almost two weeks before the final day. Unexpectedly, he found himself in hot waters after his distasteful gigs based on a few celebrities that were subjected to backlash on social media.

Howard Stern spoke about Jo Koy’s performance in a recent episode of The Howard Stern Show. The 69-year-old media personality said-

“No wonder no one wants this gig — you can’t make fun of anybody anymore,”

He further expressed-

“Standing up there and telling those jokes to a bunch of people who don’t want to be laughed at is the biggest bummer in the world. Hollywood has no sense of humor about itself … if you’re shelling out 25, 30 percent of your income on publicists and agents … you don’t want to be goofed on on television,”

Howard Stern criticized Hollywood’s lack of sense of humor as celebrities invest a huge amount of their income in their image management and the idea of being goofed up on television is never seen in a good light. However, Jimmy Kimmel still tops the charts with respect to being the fan-favorite Oscar host.

 

Jimmy Kimmel Would Be Hosting The 2024 Oscars

Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting the upcoming 2024 Oscar Awards ceremony. This would be the fourth time, the Emmy Award winner would be onstage at one of the most important events in the entertainment world. He had previously hosted the Oscars in 2017, 2018 and 2023.

According to a report by Variety, the Academy president and Academy CEO Bill Kramer said-

“We are thrilled about Jimmy returning to host and Molly [McNearney] returning as executive producer for the Oscars. They share our love of movies and our commitment to producing a dynamic and entertaining show for our global audience. We are deeply grateful to Jimmy, Molly and their teams for their incredible creativity and partnership and for going on this ride with us again.”

While talking about Jimmy Kimmel, president of ABC Entertainment, Craig Erwich said-

The 96th Oscars will be held on March 10, 2024, at the Dolby Theatre.
