Episode 7 of Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc which recently aired is certainly making its rounds around social media. The episode covered the past of the Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima, and also an incredibly slow-paced infiltration of the demon slayer headquarters.

The end of the episode marked the first encounter between Muzan and Ubuyashiki, and the animators certainly pulled off all the stops to make the scene as dramatic as they could. However, they might have gone a tad bit too overboard with the scene and fans are certainly having the time of their lives giving their takes on it.

I guess it’s safe to assume that Studio Ufotable failed to grasp the actual essence of what they were aiming for with Muzan’s scene. It even drew some comparisons to the Shibuya Incident from Jujutsu Kaisen. Here is why.

The only thing that both the Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc Episode 7 ending and the Jujutsu Kaisen Shibuya Incident have in common is the ending theme playing in the background as the series begins to undergo the biggest change yet.

However, that isn’t all as an edit made by a fan using SPECIALZ by King Gnu as the background theme actually made the entire scene better, and might have even saved the tacky edits at least to some extent. Here is how the fans reacted to the edit;

Frequently asked questions

What happens with Muzan in Demon Slayer’s Hashira Training Arc Episode 7?

Episode 7 mostly covers the backstory of the Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima, and closes with Muzan Kibutsuji infiltrating the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters in a dramatic, sinister slow walk. According to the article this is an entrance rather than an attack, and the episode ends on the first encounter between Muzan and Ubuyashiki, the leader of the Corps. The series is produced by studio Ufotable.

Why did fans say the Muzan scene looks like an Indian film?

It was a fan reaction to the dramatic, slow-motion cinematography of Muzan’s walk into the headquarters. One social-media comment quoted in the article said the scene looks ‘like an Indian film, but really cool,’ while other viewers joked that Ufotable was ‘using Sapphire Shake presets in post-production’ and that the whole entrance felt like a TikTok edit. These are fan opinions, and reactions were split between calling the moment cold and intimidating and poking fun at the heavy visual effects.

Is Muzan’s entrance really copied from Jujutsu Kaisen’s Shibuya Incident?

The article pushes back on that framing and treats it as a weak comparison. It says the main thing the Episode 7 ending shares with Jujutsu Kaisen’s Shibuya Incident is an ending theme playing in the background during a major plot moment, rather than the actual content or staging of the scenes. It also notes that a fan edit setting the entrance to ‘SPECIALZ’ by King Gnu made the moment land better for some viewers, but presents the ‘copying JJK’ idea as a fan claim it disputes, not a confirmed influence.
