Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds make for one of the most beloved and powerful couples in Hollywood. For years, fans have adored the Lively-Reynolds family and their friendship with other famous people like Taylor Swift and Hugh Jackman. Their individual success in the industry is also enough to keep fans engaged.

Lively has been widely known for her role as Serena van der Woodsen in the teen series Gossip Girl and Reynolds is most popular for his Marvel superhero character Deadpool. Both of them have worked tirelessly to maintain their reputation in the industry while balancing their lives in the spotlight with their personal lives, especially as their family continued to grow.

Last year was quite huge for both of them. Reynolds returned as Deadpool in the MCU film Deadpool & Wolverine, which succeeded in pulling Hugh Jackman out of her retirement from playing Wolverine and became the highest-earning movie of the year. Lively, on the other hand, played the role of an abuse victim in It Ends with Us, an adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel.

However, things quickly went downhill after the media started calling out the Jaws actress for her insensitive behavior during the movie’s promotional tour. She filed a civil lawsuit against Baldoni alleging s*xual abuse. The Five Feet Apart director sued her back refuting her claims and also dragged Disney and Marvel into the mix over Nicepool.

Recently, Candace Owens claimed on her podcast (via YouTube) that Lively especially thanked Gordon Reynolds among others in the credits of It Ends with Us to humiliate Baldoni. Gordon Reynolds is credited as the one to have played Nicepool in Deadpool & Wolverine. So, Owens has alleged that this was done intentionally to spite Baldoni.

Nothing escapes the notice of netizens and with numerous social media personalities pointing these things out, there was no way to stop fans from giving their opinions on the matter. Most of them are convinced that this battle is going to ruin Reynolds’ career as Deadpool.

There is no telling what will ultimately happen, but given the current scenario, the odds do not look too much in Reynolds and Lively’s favor. People are still very convinced that the couple was trying to use their fame as leverage to undermine Baldoni during the making of It Ends with Us, and then again to paint him as the villain by filing a lawsuit against him. Either way, all of their careers are definitely going to be affected and fans can only hope that Disney decides not to sever ties with Reynolds over this.
