This Plothole In The Rise Of The Skywalker Makes Kylo Ren Seem Like An Idiot
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker marked the end of the Skywalker Saga. But the ending was received with mixed feelings. Whether it was Rey And Kylo’s “romance” or Poe and Finn’s “bromance”, there was a lot people wanted that didn’t happen or didn’t want to happen that did happen. But regardless of your personal feelings regarding its romance and plot, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker left a lot of unanswered questions that made people scratch their heads. Another thing which makes people scratch their heads is The Force. So we decided to make a video about what we know regarding it:
Kylo Ren Should Have Known About Ajan Kloss
The Rise of the Skywalker is a movie which was mired in controversy about scripts and director visions. Many fans agree that this ending wasn’t what The Force Awakens director Rian Johnson had in mind. But regardless of those fan opinions it can’t be denied that Episode IX comes with a few potholes. In most cases The Visual Dictionary tie-in book has helped tie those up. But this one is deeper.
In The Rise of the Skywalker or TROS as the movie is nicknamed, it’s not very clear where the Resistance’s latest base is. So the First Order doesn’t face any issue with finding it. But The Visual Dictionary has revealed a lot of new information about the planet. This information makes Kylo Ren seem like an idiot for not realizing where his mother and the rest of enemies were hiding out.
Their HQ is Ajan Kloss which is an Outer Rim moon that was previously used as a safe retreat by the Royal Family of Alderaan during times of crisis. Remember that it was also where Luke trained Leia shortly after the events of Return of the Jedi (seen in flashback in Rise). This was until she gave up the life of a Jedi when her son Ben came along. But Luke continued to use the location as a place to train his first Jedi students. Hence the training course that Rey uses towards the start of the movie.
Now this all works until you remember that Kylo was one of Luke’s first students and would have trained on Ajan Kloss himself. While he might not be familiar with the history of the place as a sanctuary, but he would remember the world from his own past. So, one can assume or hope that it would at least be on his radar as a potential place for where the Resistance could be hiding.
Maybe Palpatine Is To Blame For Kylo’s Mistake?
The only excuse for Kylo Ren not considering this option is that his attention was distracted by the return of Emperor Palpatine. This in turn led him on a single-minded quest to hunt down Darth Sidious’ own secret hideout.
But even then, Kylo should have figured it out.
