‘Thought It Was a Joke’: Judi Dench Says She Believed Will Smith Slapping Chris Rock at Oscars Was a Skit, Says ‘That Was The Good Bit This Year’
Will Smith’s slap incident with Chris Rock was the most talked-about topic after the Oscars. The actor’s unexpected move after Chris Rock made a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s baldness surprised everyone. Jada P. Smith suffers from alopecia, a condition that causes the loss of hair, so the joke was highly insensitive. Despite the tone-deaf comment, many celebrities present at the ceremony, including Judi Dench, thought that Will Smith’s violent move was scripted.

The time when TikTok saved Judi Smith’s life
Judi Dench and her grandson share a good relationship and often make TikToks together. In an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers in January, the actress talked about the process of making TikToks and jokingly stated,
“He was a tyrant.”
Earlier in July 2020, the actress had said something similar about making TikToks.
“I know nothing about TikTok. Sam is the person who is technically minded and who has all the ideas, so he got very strict.”
She also added how the video-making app helped her during the pandemic.
“Well it saved my life,” the actress said.
Hopefully, the two will continue to make TikToks together. As for Will Smith, hopefully, the actor will return to the silver screen soon despite being banned from the Oscars for a decade due to his violent reaction.
