Tokyo Ghoul Fans Take Another Gut Punch as Rumiko Takahashi’s Ranma 1/2 Sets Up for Anime Remake
Renowned manga creator Rumihiko Takahashi is known for works like Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku, and InuYasha. But her most famous work is perhaps Ranma 1/2, which became an anime mainstay in the 1990s. Although Ranma 1/2 is a shonen action anime, it also has a soft romance and wide comic appeal. Ranma 1/2 has an engaging array of characters and is a constant source of entertainment.
Many of Takahashi’s best-known series have come to an end: Inuyasha concluded in 2008, Ranma 1/2 ended in 1996, and Urusei Yatsura stopped in 1987. While older viewers and fans still have fond memories of these shows, they also wish for a remake of these series. Thankfully, it seems that Ranma 1/2 will be remade. However, one fandom won’t be happy with this development.
Rumiko Takahashi’s Ranma 1/2 Will Be Getting a Remake Before Tokyo Ghoul
The information comes from popular X user, @SugoiLITE, who stated that Rumiko Takahashi’s 80s Martial Arts Romcom Manga, Ranma 1/2, has an anime remake series in the work. No more information has been revealed regarding this yet.

However, the Tokyo Ghoul fans are not happy about it. Although there have been many rumors about a Tokyo Ghoul remake, there has been nothing concrete yet. Fans have been pleading for a Tokyo Ghoul remake for years, and there were speculations of one surfacing due to a change in website address back in March, but nothing came out of it.
No wonder Tokyo Ghoul fans are left fuming as Ranma 1/2 is set to get a remake before the anime series penned by Sui Ishida. The rumor that Tokyo Ghoul is going to get a reboot originated after online scooper Manga Mogura set off the Tokyo Ghoul remake train after spotting a web domain upgrade. They posted the following on their X (formerly Twitter) profile: “Tokyo Ghoul Anime 10th Anniversary Project may be coming soon, based on a recent web domain registration.”
"Tokyo Ghoul" Anime 10th Anniversary Project might be upcoming judging from a recent web domain registration.
Please note that nothing is confirmed and I'm not sure what such a project/event would actually entail. If you see/hear anything interesting, let me know please, thank… pic.twitter.com/hw6fy1ZlLq

However, the user let supporters know in the same tweet that there had been no official word on the matter. Furthermore, it was quite early to even speculate about a firm idea of what the aforementioned anniversary project would involve. In an attempt to relive the bittersweet memories of a possible Tokyo Ghoul revival, longtime fans used this occasion to express their want for their favorite series to have the same “FullMetal Alchemist treatment.”
What Is Ranma 1/2 About?
Ranma 1/2 centers on Ranma Saotome, a reckless teenage martial artist suffering from a peculiar affliction that turns him into a woman whenever he comes into contact with cold water.
Living with the generous Tendo family, Ranma attempts to lead a regular life while attempting to find a solution for his superhuman condition. He also gradually develops feelings for Akane and a few other heightened and hilarious people.
The battle shonen series is full of intense fighting. But it is also much more than just an action anime, and its wide range of interests is what has allowed it to appeal to so many people for so long.
Combat plays a major role in Ranma 1/2‘s narrative, as some of the most significant moments in the anime revolve around battles. The anime’s storyline is never entirely dominated by this, though. Ranma 1/2 successfully strikes a balance between comedy, romance, and action.
