‘Tom Cruise Has a Death Wish’: Fans Gasp as Mission Impossible 7 Star Reveals His Next Stunt Involves Doing a Barrel Roll Atop a Nose-diving WWII Plane
The famous actor who plays Ethan Hunt in the phenomenally successful movie franchise is well known for his passion for pulling off his own stunts. Interestingly, the sequence was first practiced in the UK back in 2021 by Tom Cruise, who was last seen in his extremely successful film ‘Top Gun: Maverick‘.
He had been seen working on filming the actual sequence, in which he is hanging upside down from the wing of an airplane for the film ‘Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning‘ during his time there.
Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning has Tom Cruise performing even crazier stunts
Any film that stars Tom Cruise in it will have him performing his own stunts. In fact, in the first four Mission Impossible movies, Tom Cruise prioritized performing the majority of his own stunts. While suspended from the MI1 ceiling, he performed a number of tricks. He climbed a cliff while wearing only a harness at Dead Horse Point, in Utah. He didn’t use a safety net during one of the feats, and he tore his labrum. In MI3, he executed a building jump, and in MI4, he hung from Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the tallest structure on earth.
“We’re shooting this aerial sequence that’s pretty spectacular.” he told Empire magazine. “It’s like Dick Tracy, all primary colors. One plane is yellow, one plane is red. Africa is green, because it’s [the] rainy season, and the sky is unbelievably blue. I’ve never shot anything like it.” for his latest stunt scene in ‘Mission Impossible -Dead Reckoning‘.
Tom Cruise and his history of performing stunts that keep reaching a new level of crazy
The actor has always been known to perform his own stunts, especially in the Misson Impossible franchise. The latest one, Mission Impossible -Dead Reckoning, has tom cruise dangle himself off the wing as the plane does a nosedive and then performs a barrel roll. He also rides a motorcycle off the edge of a cliff and parachutes off in the upcoming film. The aircraft in question is a yellow World War II biplane, and director Christopher McQuarrie assures that it is “spectacular”.
For this ‘Mission Impossible 7’ stunt, Tom Cruise slips out of the cockpit of a WWII biplane, dangles himself off the wing as the plane does a nosedive and then performs a barrel roll.

This sounds amazing, and just insane delight to witness! But it amazes me Tom can do all this without being permanently traumatized, and scarred for life does this with absolute affection.
