Tom Cruise Humbly Accepts Best Action Movie of the Year Honor After Mission Impossible 7’s Unexpected Box Office Failure
Tom Cruise regarded, as a Hollywood icon is one of the finest and most widely recognized actors in the entertainment industry. The actor is known to be one of the highest-paid actors as his performances over the years have only strengthened his position in the industry.
Making his breakthrough in the industry with 1983’s Risky Business, the actor has gone on to establish himself as an action star by starring in the Mission Impossible film series since 1996. He has also been part of other projects including Vanilla Sky, Collateral, Knight and Day, Oblivion, and more. Rotten Tomatoes celebrates the best-reviewed movies and TV shows of the past year at the Golden Tomato Awards. Considered as a symbol of being both a critical and mainstream darling, the award goes on to recognize not only the biggest hits from the past year but also the most provocative Indies.
The winners were announced recently and Tom Cruise starrer Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part One was announced as the Best Action & Adventure Movie 2023. Despite its underestimated performance at the box office, the movie managed to impress the audience by receiving positive feedback from the critics as well as the audience.
Actor Tom Cruise humbly accepted the award and in his acceptance speech said,
“I want to thank Rotten Tomatoes, all the critics, and all the fans as we make these movies for each and every one of you. I speak on behalf of Christopher McQuarrie, entire cast and crew that we’re thrilled and truly honored to be not only one of the Best Reviewed films of the year but the Best Reviewed Action & Adventure Movie of 2023. Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part One starring Hayley Atwell, Vanessa Kirby, Rebecca Ferguson, and more became the tenth highest-grossing movie in 2023. The movie is considered, a representation of Hollywood action filmmaking at its finest.

Tom Cruise starrer Mission: Impossible 7 title changed for digital release
Ahead of its digital release, makers of Mission: Impossible 7 have decided to tweak the title as they drop ‘Part One’ from Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part One. Now, the movie’s title is just Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning. There has been no reason stated as to why the makers decided to drop Part One from the original title.
However, according to Variety, the tweak in the title for the seventh movie comes after the upcoming eighth movie was delayed over a year from June 28th, 2024 to May 23rd, 2025. It was also announced that the upcoming movie will have a new title.
In the upcoming movie, Cruise’s Ethan Hunt will yet again embark on a mission that is considered the most dangerous mission yet. It is to track down a terrifying new weapon that poses a threat to all mankind if it falls into the wrong hands. Ethan Hunt and his team are confronted by a mysterious all powerful energy but Hunt’s focus on his goal goes on to prove that nothing is more important than his mission.
Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning will stream on Paramount+ from 25th January 2024.
