Tom Cruise’s Dating Life: Why Did Tom Cruise’s Marriage With Nicole Kidman Fall Apart?
When it comes to the dating scenario, Hollywood star Tom Cruise has dated various women from the start of his career till the present. One of his long-standing relationships includes the almost decade-long marriage with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman. The two were considered one of the most popular couples of the 90s which undoubtedly received a whole lot of media attention during its course.
Although they seemed to have had a good relationship with each other, it ultimately came to an end through a mutual decision in the late 90s. The former couple have since moved on way ahead of each other.
Why Did Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman Call It Quits With Each Other?
Being only in their 20s, former partners Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman decided to tie the knot pretty fast after meeting only a year earlier. The two met for the first time on the set of the 1990 Days of Thunder and romance seems to have quickly bloomed between them. Both of them have admitted to having an instant physical attraction to each other. And sure enough, they tied the knot only a year later in a private ceremony.
In a 2002 Interview with Vanity Fair, the Golden Compass actor described how deeply she fell for Cruise by saying,
“I fell madly, passionately in love”
At the time she had only been 20 which is undoubtedly a pretty young age to get married but according to her interview, none of that had mattered to her. Their relationship lasted almost a decade but unfortunately, they mutually decided to separate in the early 2000s, two years after the release of their film Eyes Eide Shut directed by Stanley Kubrick.
However, after about 10 years of being together and adopting two children, they reportedly concluded that the huge difference in the direction of their careers finally led them to end their long-running marriage. At the time of their divorce, a representative of the former couple wrote a statement explaining the situation by writing,
“Citing the difficulties inherent in divergent careers which constantly keep them apart, they concluded that an amicable separation seemed best for both of them at this time,”
But as stated, they remained amicable with each other even after the end of their married life. They have moved on with their respective partners since.
A Look at Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s Life After Divorce
After their divorce in 2001, not Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman dated a few people. Cruise’s second marriage took place with now ex-wife Katie Holmes with whom he shares a daughter named Suri Cruise. However, this relationship also did not last as they finally split in 2012. Reportedly it all had a lot to do with the Top Gun: Maverick actor’s association with the church of Scientology.
According to reports, the actor has not kept in touch with Suri for a very long time due to this association. In the case of Kidman the Cold Mountain star has been married to Keith Urban since 2006 and has two daughters with him currently.
