Tom Cruise’s Daughter Suri May Have One Unlikely Thing in Common with Brad Pitt’s Kids and That’s Not Necessarily a Good Thing
Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt are two of the most well-known Hollywood actors. Both have achieved unparalleled success in their career and continue to build an unmatched legacy. They even worked together at one point in their careers in the 1994 movie Interview with the Vampire, based on Anne Rice’s eponymous novel.
Both these actors had a happening love life until they decided to separate from their significant others. Both stars have kids with their ex-wives, and recent reports suggest that The Mummy star’s daughter Suri Noelle has something in common with one of Pitt’s kids. Reportedly, Cruise’s youngest child has publicly dropped her father’s surname, much like Shiloh Jolie-Pitt who has formally filed to have her father’s surname removed from her name.
Tom Cruise’s Daughter Might Be Following in the Footsteps of Brad Pitt’s Daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt
Tom Cruise has been in quite a few profile relationships and one of them was with actress Katie Holmes. Holmes is Cruise’s third ex-wife as they married from 2006 to 2012. The couple welcomed their daughter Suri Noelle in April 2006 and her birth certificate had this exact name (via TMZ).
The 18-year-old rising star has reportedly (via HELLO!) made a subtle statement regarding her identity. She recently portrayed Philoclea in a stage adaptation of Head Over Heels in New York and is listed as Suri Noelle on the casting sheet. Noelle is her mother’s middle name and she seems to be no longer using her father’s surname. The reason behind her decision remains unclear, but it makes her have this one thing in common with Brad Pitt’s 18-year-old daughter.
Earlier this month, PEOPLE reported that Shiloh Jolie-Pitt filed to drop ‘Pitt’ from her surname on May 27, 2024, which also marked her 18th birthday. The Bullet Train star shares six kids with Angelina Jolie, and two of his other kids have allegedly dropped ‘Pitt’ from their names.
Shiloh Jolie-Pitt Is Not the Only Jolie-Pitt Sibling to Drop Her Father’s Surname
In a video shared by Essence, while joining the Mu Pi chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at her university, Spelman College, Jolie and Pitt’s eldest daughter Zahara introduced herself as ‘Zahara Marley Jolie’, which implied that she had dropped ‘Pitt’ from her surname. However, there is no proof of her legally changing her name.
Additionally, the couple’s daughter Vivienne helped her mother in the production of the new musical The Outsiders. In the Playbill for the musical, the teenager is listed as Vivienne Jolie instead of Vivienne Jolie-Pitt as reported by PEOPLE. The distance between the star and his kids began increasing after his divorce from Jolie and the subsequent ongoing legal battle over Chateau Miraval.
