Fandoms oftentimes can be divided into two categories. The first category is fans that have their own lighthearted opinions and nobody rebukes them for not being part of the fanbase. Then there are people who defend their favorite movie/TV shows like their life depends on it. This part of the fandom often represents the entire fandom for being so notorious. With the help of the internet, people can connect with like-minded individuals who share similar interests but on some occasions, they turn out to be toxic as a group.

1) Fans Of Classic Disney Movies

According to them, the animation isn’t the same anymore and nothing will ever be as good as classic Disney. Let’s be real, the traditional form of 2D animation made popular by Disney cannot compete with modern-day animation. Creating an animated film with the new technology is easier and less costly, unlike the traditional method where each frame of the film is drawn by hand.

2) Fans Of Harry Potter & Lord of the Rings Series

Harry Potter Movies

It is indeed very frustrating when filmmakers do a bad job at creating a movie based on a beloved novel, but honestly, Not everything can make it into the film, yet the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings films were particularly well adapted to the cinematic medium, and the majority of the complaints that people have are just nit-picks. These fans seem to focus too much on the minor details, ignoring the fact that, at the end of the day, these films were made for casual audiences as well as the novel fans.

3) Comic Book Fans

Marvel Comics
Marvel Comics

Like the novel fans, comic book fans by their nature can sometimes be very obnoxious, they expect a comic book movie to portray the characters exactly as they saw them in the comics, and if the filmmakers failed to look into every minor aspect of the comic book character even if it wouldn’t really fit the tone of the film, then it means the film is wrong. Although, sometimes their complaints are valid like when Brett Ratner was changed so much in X-Men: The Last Stand.

4) James Bond Fans

James Bond Movies
James Bond Movies

They believe that the classic James Bond films – specifically those starring Sean Connery and Roger Moore – are the best that the franchise ever had to offer and Daniel Craig’s update was nonsensical even though these newer films have better cinematography, better acting, more intense action, more sophisticated plots and on the whole are far more entertaining.

5) Classic Film Fans

Classic Hollywood Movies
Classic Hollywood Movies

These people claim films just aren’t as good as they used to be, and that the classic days of Hollywood were far better. They are blinded by nostalgia which makes it hard for them to see the good side of modern Hollywood production. Cinema has indeed changed a lot since the Golden Age of Hollywood, but is it bad? Absolutely not.
