For the first time in history, the cover-ups by the Royal family have generated more attention than the actual stories and controversies. A recent picture of Kate Middleton with her kids on Mother’s Day created quite a stir on the internet and went on to become a talking point in the entertainment industry. Reportedly, the image was posted to get people to stop talking about her absence from the public eye. According to the rumors, Prince William is allegedly cheating on his ailing wife with Lady Rose Hanbury, Marchioness of Cholmondeley.

The entire controversy has been termed as Kate Gate. Based on the controversial picture the Princess of Wales is sitting in the middle surrounded by her kids and presumably the picture was clicked by her husband Prince William in Windsor. As reported by WIRED, the picture was widely distributed to reputed media outlets like the Associated Press, Reuters, Getty Images, and Agence France-Presse, but within a few hours, agencies retracted the image and prohibited their clients from using it. While talking about the inconsistencies in the picture, an AP spokesperson said-

“At closer inspection, it appeared the source had manipulated the image in a way that did not meet AP’s photo standards. The photo shows an inconsistency in the alignment of Princess Charlotte’s left hand.”

Reportedly, the photograph was posted to combat the conspiracy theories around Kate Middleton’s absence from the public eye after her abdominal surgery in January.
