Watcher Informant: A Secret TVA Agent in Loki?
Stan Lee’s cameo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films has never been less than a treat for the fans. But this time, MCU theory and Stand Lee’s role might connect to a larger story via Loki’s Time Variance Authority (TVA).
Stan Lee, the legendary writer, has had multiple cameos in almost every other Marvel film on the big screen. However, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 proved and echoed that Stan Lee’s cameos exist for a purpose. The post-credit scenes of the movie mentioned Stan Lee as an informant for the Watchers who reports everything that he saw. While it sounds really simple, there is a possibility that it might give more agencies to the informant.
One Reddit Theory mentioned that Stan Lee could be a TVA agent in Loki. In the Marvel and Disney Plus series Loki, Time Variance Authority (TVA) works to maintain and balance the Sacred Timeline of the Multiverse. The TVA agents abduct people who deviate from the flow of time and, as a result, catalysts a Nexus event. Once kidnapped, the TVA erases the timeline entirely by pruning them. However, the Reddit Theory echoes that Stan Lee might be manipulating the timeline for years and years by not creating a Nexus event.
Much like the character played by Sophia Di Martino, Sylvie, at some point, Stan Lee might have started to gallivant the Sacred timeline. Instead of destroying the TVA, Lee appears at crucial scenes in the MCU and interacts with the characters there. It is difficult to track him down because Stan never stayed long enough to depict or reflect an impact on screen. That is perhaps why he has seen in both Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain Marvel. The theory by Reddit seems to be accurate because it is evident that Stan Lee has always been at the right place and at the right time.
It can even be possible that Stan might get employed by the TVA as a special agent to interact with the timeline. Unlike many agents who just prune the variants arrested by the TVA, Stan might appear on screen to manipulate the situation and maintain the flow of time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For instance, just like he appeared in Ant-Man or in Thor. However, Stan Lee’s appearance in Avengers: End Game and Ant-man and the Wasp still remains unclear because his appearance never impacted the story timeline.
While the theory could have a possible foundation, it is also expected that Stan might be seen as an informant for the TVA and not an agent. Thus, while it is intriguing to explore more about Stan’s role in the TVA, it is also possible that the post-credits were just another mission for the agents.
The final moments in Loki revealed one major detail: “Loki will return in Season 2”. The theory can be only unfolded more when Season 2 release.
