We Fans Definitely Missed These Small But Interesting Venom Details
Over the last two decades, superhero series have evolved into a mainstream cinema genre. Stand-alone comic book adaptations, in particular when it comes to villains becoming good people, are a fan favorite. Venom has progressed in the media, from a villainous arc in Spider-Man 3 to heading a solo series as a protaganist in Venom. While fans wait for Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage, they have a lot to say about all the exciting things that have yet to be revealed. Isn’t it amusing? If so, let’s have a look at these intriguing Venom tidbits discovered by fans, and don’t forget to let us know which of these elements you enjoyed most in the comments.
10. Venom Wants Chocolate Because It Has The Right Amount Of Phenethylamine:
The symbiote informs Eddie in Venom that he wants to eat chocolate before biting (and presumably devouring) the mugger’s head off. This is a reference to the comics: the symbiote needs phenethylamine to survive, which can be found in either chocolate or the human brain.
9. ‘Venom’ Was Stan Lee’s Last Living Cameo:
Before his death on November 12, 2018, Venom was the final film with a Stan Lee cameo to be released during his lifetime. He appeared in two additional films following his death, Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame.
8. Tom Hardy Improvised The Lobster Tank Scene:
Tom Hardy created the hilarious scene in Venom in which Eddie Brock climbs into the lobster tank. The tank wasn’t initially in the screenplay, but when he saw it on set, he told the director that he wanted to put it in the scene.
7. Tom Hardy Pre-Recorded His Venom Lines:
For pre-production, Tom Hardy recorded his words for the Venom symbiote, which were then played back to him through an earpiece on set during sequences in which Brock and the symbiote converse.
6. Anne Wearing The Symbiote References ‘She-Venom’:
Anne Weying temporarily employs the Venom symbiote to aid Eddie’s rescue. This is a nod to the comics, when Weying temporarily donned the symbiote as She-Venom.
5. The EMT’s Jacket Gives A Nod To Venom’s Origins:
Once possessed, the Malaysian EMT in Venom walks away with her hair braid concealing the “M” in “EMT,” hence (E)xtra (T)errestrial.
4. Carlton Drake Proves He’s A Hypocrite:
In Venom, Drake advises a little girl on a field trip that it’s okay to ask questions, but cautions that there will be some who want to quiet those who do. Only a few scenes later, he becomes uneasy when Eddie inquires about his dirty clothes and has him escorted out of the premises. Drake establishes himself as hypocritical three times in a single scene. Despite his cynicism, he attempts to console a homeless test subject with the Biblical tale of Isaac, speaks of sacrifice (although he is not the one making the sacrifice), and tells the homeless guy that he would not “abandon us” (and teams up with Riot to hand over Earth to the symbiotes).
3. The Survivor Mentioned At The Beginning Of The Movie Is A Nod To The Comics:
The survivor’s name was Jameson at the start of Venom. A reference to J. J. Jameson, whose son in the comics and cartoons is John Jonah Jameson, an astronaut.
2. The Scientists Use Mackie Big Knob Monitor To Control Patients:
1. The Spider Emblem Can Briefly Be Seen During The Fight With Riot:
The spider symbol may be seen momentarily on Eddie’s chest during the struggle with Riot in Venom, as the symbiote is being pulled apart.
