“We just couldn’t find anybody as good as Rachel”: Rachel Zegler Did Not Initially Want to Join Jennifer Lawrence’s Billions of Dollar Worth Franchise
In a candid interview, the director of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds movie Francis Lawrence opened up about the casting process of the film. Talking about this the director revealed that the leading actor of the movie Rachel Zegler was indeed the first choice of the creator, however, Zegler initially refused to be a part of it due to scheduling issues.
Rachel Zegler Initially Rejected Role in The Hunger Games prequel
Director Francis Lawrence has opened up about the casting process of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds. Talking about this the director said that Rachel Zegler was the creator’s first choice.
As reported by The Direct, Lawrence said “We just couldn’t find anybody as good as Rachel for this role, in terms of the voice, the look, the performance ability, acting, the kind of person we needed.” However, despite this Zegler rejected the role.

As per Lawrence at that time Zegler was filming Snow White another of her upcoming films and due to the scheduling issues, she rejected it. However, during the final weeks of filming Snow White, Zegler called Lawrence back asking if the job was still open.
Talking about this the director said “She was then just weeks away from finishing ‘Snow White.’ So she sees the light at the end of the tunnel. She was like, ‘Is the job still open?’ ‘Yes! It is!’ It all came together at the last minute”
As Zegler continues to add big-budget films to her resume one after the other, fans are eagerly waiting for her upcoming movies. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds is set to release on 17th November 2023.
Rachel Zegler the New Snow White
After all the controversy surrounding Disney+’s live-action adaption of Snow White and its lead star Rachel Zegler, the movie is finally said to release on March 22, 2024. Even though the movie is based on the 1937 animated movie “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” reports suggest that Disney will be approaching the characters of the dwarf in a new way.
Not only this Zegler has also hinted towards the story’s contemporary revision stating that it will be more appealing to progressive viewers. Also, the movie is set to have yet another character who will turn out to be Snow White’s Love interest. With all the new updates, the movie also has stars like Gal Gadot, Andrew Burnap, Martin Klebba, Colin Michael Carmichael, and Dujonna Gift.
Under the direction of Marc Web, the filming of the movie has concluded and now fans are eagerly waiting for it to make its way to the big screen.
