During a fun interview with Joey King on the YouTube channel Still Watching Netflix, Zac Efron shared some unexpected stories about making the sequel to the popular Disney movie, High School Musical. When talking about the scene where he performs Bet On It, the 36-year-old said:

That was all improv. And we shot it, I think the whole song, in like three hours. When we shot that. We just had no ideas for what to do on the day.

According to Efron, there was a lack of planned choreography for the scene. Director Kenny Ortega simply told him:

Dude, we have no concept for this song. What do you want to do?

With nothing but a golf course as his backdrop, he managed to channel Troy’s angry dance, passionately singing alone. “You in that video – iconic,” King told Efron, which is so true.

It’s amazing how he was able to convey so much emotion with so little direction. Soon, the Bet on It song became a fan favorite, and people still love it to this day. It just goes to show that sometimes, the most amazing moments are the ones that are truly unexpected.
