Jenna Ortega, famously known for her current hit series Wednesday, appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s show after presenting at the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards. While having a fan girl moment, the Yes Day star nervously met Paul Mescal during the awards ceremony when he introduced himself. The 20-year-old star was to sit at the same table as Zendaya and Mescal.

Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC, Jenna Ortega shared how she freaked out while meeting the Irish actor. Recalling the moment when Ortega was shown her table where Zendaya and Mescal were already seated, she mentioned how her heart was thumping. Ortega shared “But I was kind of freaking out because she was sitting next to Paul Mescal, who I think is so talented and so good,” clearly admiring Mescal.

“And I was so nervous to meet him and I knew he was going to be at my table. He introduced himself to me when I wasn’t expecting it.”

Getting into detail the Wednesday star added, “He was like ‘oh hi nice to meet you I’m Paul’ and I was so nervous I kind of couldn’t look him in the eye”. Intimidated by the Aftersun actor’s presence, Jenna Ortega sparked romance rumors while speaking about him. Audiences and fans felt either a fangirl or a hopeless romantic vibe from The Fallout actress.

The situation came up when Paul Mescal provided his hand to Zendaya while walking up the stairs to the stage. Rejecting his help while accepting his chivalry, Zendaya held out her elbow for the Normal People actor to hold.

Although, ever since the incident happened and the video went viral, people are having mixed feelings about it. However, most netizens seem to be in support of Zendaya, especially since Mescal has been wildly associated with famous female personalities in Hollywood. Right after their presentation, Jenna Ortega seemed to have been starstruck with Paul Mescal, when he approached her.
