SUMMARY
  • Wendy Williams once tried to get cocky with Keke Palmer on her show while talking about her incident with Trey Songz.
  • Palmer had showed Williams her place with a perfect comeback.
  • The whole incident was so strongly put that it can even make Dakota Johnson's spat with Ellen DeGeneres look amicable.

It is no secret that many chat show hosts have been accused of misbehaving with the stars physically or verbally. This list includes big names like Elle DeGeneres, Charlie Rose, David Copperfield, and more. However, Wendy Williams also comes on the same list as she has been known for being notoriously hard on celebrities, making them feel uncomfortable. But when Keke Palmer graced her show, she made sure to put Williams in her place.

Now, the video clip from that particular episode featuring Palmer on Williams’ show has been surfacing all over the media. The netizens have been quick to pick up and share their reaction to it. Rewatching the clip, it’s making us remember the time when Dakota Johnson had called out DeGeneres for her unruly behavior but the Scream Queens star’s attack on Williams put Johnson’s spat a little too gentle.

Back in 2017, when Keke Palmer appeared on Wendy Williams Show to promote her book, the host asked her to address the controversial incident with Trey Songz. To jog up the memory, Songz had pressurized Palmer to be in his music video at a party, and even after refusing repeatedly, the singer made her feel uncomfortable. So much so, that she had to hide in a closet until her Uber arrived. But, Trey used her footage in the video anyway.

When Wendy Williams asked the Hustlers actress to talk about the incident, she with much dignity quipped, “Well, you know because you done told everybody especially,” referring to Williams’ past comments on Trey while defending him. She further continued,

I don’t want to keep broad-beating that one situation. But I will say, Wendy: I would have loved to turn on your show and saw you be a little bit more compassionate and less accusatory and ridiculing.

When Williams interrupted her saying that she couldn’t, Palmer added, “Why girl?! Because the gag is, you wasn’t there!” She then proved her point about what is expected and what has been normalized when it comes to treating a woman. The actress further explained,

We’re telling girls that it’s okay for them to be in weird and awkward and potentially sexually harassing environments and they should endure it and not say nothing about it.

Well, she surely showed the talk show’s host her place with her perfect response.

8 years after the interview, the video clip where Keke Palmer shut Wendy Williams down has resurfaced on the internet. It has sparked reactions from social media users. Many have come forward in support of the actress and lashed Williams for being so inconsiderate. Here’s what X (previously known as Twitter) has been flooded with:

However, this incident lets us revisit another iconic moment that happened between Dakota Johnson and Ellen DeGeneres. When DeGeneres on her show was trying to put Johnson in a difficult position by saying that she didn’t invite the talk show host to her birthday, the actress clapped back and said,

Actually, no that’s not the truth Ellen. You were invited and you didn’t come. Last year, when I was on the show you gave me a bunch about not inviting you but I didn’t even know you wanted to be invited or you liked me. But, this year you were invited you can ask everybody.

To this, Ellen DeGeneres then controlled the damage by saying “Oh, I didn’t go because I had that thing.”

Well, Keke Palmer’s legendary clapback has surely exceeded Dakota Johnson’s incident.
