Some of us still remember the Spider-Man films starring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield that we watched as children. The live-action Spider-Man of the generation was launched by Marvel as Tom Holland. He appeared in three independent Spider-Man films as well as MCU blockbusters like Infinity War and Endgame. Fans have often compared the actors playing the superhero, and they accepted Holland as the new web-slinger.

However, the competition for the 27-year-old has reached a new level with the addition of Shameik Moore’s Miles Morales in the race. After the success of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Versea sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, recently made its way into the theaters. The movie is performing brilliantly at the box office. Miles Morales’s Spider-Man has already captured people’s attention, and it is evident by the success of the film. The sequel of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse earned $51.75 million on opening day.

The movie features the return of the cast Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker. The sequel focusing on the multiverse also brings in additional characters. Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099, voiced by Oscar Isaac, has become an exceptional character.

With Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse creating a buzz at the box office, the MCU Spider-Man, Tom Holland is in trouble as fans are calling Shameik Moore’s Miles Morales the greatest superhero. Marvel fans are known to be loyal but the new film with its amazing storyline and animation has captured the audience’s heart.

Despite many fans turning their back on Holland, few have stood up in support of the actor. Fans took to Twitter, tweeting, “Tom Holland is one of the best actors of his generation and we’re lucky to have him as Spider-Man!”

Over this, a debate has started on the social media platform in which some agreed with the tweet while some expressed their disapproval.

A fan wrote, “Good actor sure. One of the best actors of our generation? I don’t think you can make a reasonable argument to support that claim with the work he’s done so far.”

While another tweeted, “I love him as Spider-Man and can be fun in action movies. But real acting, he not quite there yet.”

A person wrote, “Tom in this scene was very good. I liked him nwh, and overall he’s a really good actor.” “I agree, especially out of our young generation he’s easily one of the best,” a person wrote.

While the debate continues it is clear Tom Holland will return as Spider-Man as MCU plans to add another movie into the franchise after the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home
