The film, starring the charismatic Ryan Reynolds, has been in headlines ever since it was confirmed that Hugh Jackman is reprising his role as Wolverine. With the on-set pictures of Jackman in a yellow suit with Reynolds Deadpool surfaced online, fans were unable to control their excitement.

After the Disney-Fox merger caused the X-Men rights to return to Marvel Studios, online casting rumors about potential performers for the next live-action iteration of the well-known mutant squad in the Marvel Cinematic Universe started to circulate. Daniel Radcliffe was rumored to be cast to take on the mantle of Logan/Wolverine from Jackman. However, the X-Men star’s return to play the superhero character shut down Radcliffe’s rumors.

Industry scooper Daniel Richtman revealed through X that the Harry Potter actor might be suitable for another role in the MCU. He teased that the British actor has reportedly been cast to join Jackman and Reynolds in Deadpool 3 for a secret role. No other details regarding the role were provided. According to various theories, the 34-year-old can play a Wolverine Variant. 

Due to the ongoing Hollywood strikes, Deadpool 3 production has been put on hold. Shawn Levy previously stated that they were already halfway through filming when the SAG-AFTRA strike began.

Daniel Radcliffe’s rumored casting in Deadpool 3 has somewhat convinced fans that the actor will be replacing Hugh Jackman in Avengers 6. There were previous rumors which claimed that Radcliffe was on Marvel’s radar to take over from Jackman as Logan in the planned X-Men reboot. However, nothing has been confirmed by anyone connected to the project, but fans have started building their theories and shared their excitement through X. 

A person posted on X saying, “New Wolverine, we’ve got British Wolverine and British Spiderman now.” It was followed by a series of posts:

Deadpool 3 is directed by Shawn Levy from a screenplay he co-wrote with Reynolds, Rhett Rheese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells. The film will also introduce new characters to the franchise including acclaimed actors Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen, with Corrin expected to play the main antagonist. 

Deadpool 3 arrives in theaters on May 3, 2024.
