Nozawa-san gave life to fan-favorite Goku in 1986, the year Dragon Ball debuted. Since then she has been voicing the titular character making each fan fall in love with the Kakarot. According to an X (earlier Twitter) post, during the Fuji TV Anime Lineup 2024, fans were asked to shoot the symbolic Kamehameha, to which Nozawa-san humorously replied:
“Right now? But what if we end up destroying the whole place.”
Following the Goku voice artist’s words, the crowd cheered up, releasing the iconic Kamehameha in memory of Toriyama-san. Another post shared by Hype on X revealed that Nozawa-san is left grief-stricken after the demise of the legendary figure. According to the official statement, the cause of Akira Toriyama’s death was an acute subdural hematoma, a condition in which blood collects between the skull and brain.
