“What’s the deal with this Office thing?”: John Krasinski’s Children Do Not Believe that Their Father Starred in The Office
Popularly known for his on-screen character Jim Halpert from NBC sitcom The Office; actor John Krasinski is one of the most talented actors in the industry. The actor has not only starred but also served as the producer and the occasional director on the show.
Krasinski is without a doubt one of the fan-favorite characters from The Office. The MCU star is married to English actress Emily Blunt with whom he shares two daughters. Krasinski revealed that both of his daughters simply refuse to believe that their father starred in a show. Here’s what he had to share.

John Krasinski says his daughters think he works in an actual office
The actor who starred as Jim Halpert on The Office; John Krasinski appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote his show, Jack Ryan. During the conversation, he revealed that his daughters Hazel and Violet believe that he works in an actual office rather than starring in a show named The Office. He said,
“The reason I think that is because I was walking them to school one day, and this guy came up, and he was very nice, he went, ‘John, from The Office!’. I went yeah and he said, ‘ Oh my god, It’s so good to see you’ and I said ‘thanks’, and he kept walking.”
Krasinski was asked if his daughters have started watching his successful show to which he said,
“They literally just started watching The Office and I showed them one episode and their actual quote, we were driving and from the back seat I heard, ‘So, what’s the deal with this office thing.? I was like it’s big.”
The actor mentioned his wife; Emily Blunt had mentioned that he should show their daughter the pilot episode of the show. He added that his six-year-old kept asking him if the person on-screen was him to which he answered he was and she replied by saying that he looked different. Krasinski said that they watched two more episodes but they refused to believe that it was him. However, they did accept the fact that the guy on-screen looked very similar to their father.
John Krasinski reveals his wife Emily Blunt earned ‘cool points’ with kids with Marry Poppins
The actor went ahead to reveal during the interview that Emily Blunt who starred as Mary Poppins had a head start among their kids. He noted,
“I think my kids thought she married me out of charity. They’re like, ‘You’re so nice to marry an accountant. That’s so nice of you. Because they don’t know what I do.”
Emily Blunt in an interview with E! News revealed that they thought they were brave enough to let their kids watch their work. The couple wanted to be open to the criticism that might come from them. She said,
“They’ve seen Marry Poppins and Jungle Cruise and they’ve seen some episodes of The Office which they liked a lot. They don’t really want to watch us on-screen. They’ve got that ownership of us as parents. It’s not they’re not like running to see me in a movie, which keeps you humble.”
