According to reports, Jennifer Aniston was in an estranged relationship with her late mother, Nancy Dow, for 15 years. The mother-daughter duo shares a complicated relationship for some reasons. The FRIENDS star’s parents, Nancy Dow, and John Aniston, divorced when Jennifer Aniston was a young child. They were married from 1965 to 1980. In her candid interview, the actress described her childhood as “Destabilized.” She said,

“I guess I have my parents to thank. You can either be angry or be a martyr, or you can say, You’ve got lemons? Let’s make lemonade. ”

Talking about the sobering incident when her father abandoned her mother and her when she was only nine years old, she said,

“My mom told me. I went to a birthday party, and when I came back, she said, your father’s not going to be around here for a little while. She didn’t say he was gone forever. I don’t know if I blocked it, but I just remember sitting there, crying, not understanding that he was gone. I don’t know what I did later that night or the next day.”

 Jennifer Aniston continued,

“I don’t remember anything other than it being odd that all of a sudden my father wasn’t there. And he was gone for a while. He just called one day and said, let’s go see The Fantastickes. So we had a little dinner and saw the show. After that, I started seeing him on weekends, and this new way of life just unfolded.”

The Just Go It With It movie star revealed in her tell-all interview that after her father left her and her mom after their divorce Aniston’s relationship with her late mother, Nancy Dow, became emotionally drained. The actress recalls,

“She was from this world of, honey, take better care of yourself, or honey, put your face on, or all of those odd sound bites that I can remember from my childhood.”

The Break Up movie star continued,

“My mom said those things because she loved me. It wasn’t her trying to be a b**ch or knowing she would be making some deep wounds that I would then spend a lot of money to undo. She did it because that was what she grew up with. She was missing what was actually important. I think she was just holding on and doing the best she could, struggling financially and dealing with a husband who was no longer there. Being a single mom in the ’80s I’m sure was pretty crappy.”
