While The Flash Suffered Extreme 2nd Week Drop, Barbie, and Oppenheimer Continue Victory March With Just 40% Decrease in Domestic Box Office
DCEU’s The Flash had a major failure at the box office with the opening day amount being well below the expected figure. Compared to this, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig’s Barbie are much more successful at the box office as far as it is concerned.
And the second-week drop in ticket sales is proof enough that the DC film is one of the most highly disappointing projects that the studio has released till now. Seemingly a lot of factors are responsible for this outcome including the lead actor.
A Look at DCEU’s The Flash and Its Highly Disappointing Box-office Performance
Up till now a lot of films have been released this year in various genres. And when it comes to the box office, the one film that has stood out the most for bombing is DCEU’s The Flash starring Ezra Miller. Its second-week drop was one of the worst so far at a staggering 73%.
Moreover, even on the opening day, the film managed to collect only around 55 million dollars which was well below the expected figure reportedly. With that, The Flash has made its mark as the studio’s worst second-week drop of any project so far. Currently, it has gone down to third place below Pixar’s Elemental.
At the same time, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer are sailing smoothly as expected even in their second week. The two films which were released on the same day, only saw a 40% decrease going into the second week.
Barbie has already managed to collect all of its budget back in under five days and it also had the biggest opening week at the box office of the year so far. The fact that these two were the most anticipated films so far explains the great reception by the audience.

What Are The Possible Reasons for The Flash’s Poor Performance?
As far as it can be seen, there is a combination of factors in the play regarding the DCEU’s latest project The Flash starring Ezra Miller. Looking at the film itself, many have complained about the “incomplete VFX” work which is always a must in Superhero films.
The transformation when Barry Allen has to bring upon his Scarlett Speedster outfit has to be done using CGI which the viewers think that it was not well done as almost looked as if done in a hurry. Apart from Miller’s various problematic legal issues which have made him unpopular among people also has a large part to play in the movie’s reception.
