Born in Hershey, Pennsylvania, Kate is the third of five children, she was used to having a large family since her childhood. Kate started her journey professionally as a nurse in the labor and delivery wing of a Wyoming hospital.

The couple had a hard time conceiving when they decided to use fertility treatments to get pregnant. In 2000, they decided to get medical health to conceive after which they welcomed twins who were born prematurely. With adequate attention, they were treated well and the couple was able to go home with their kids.
About four years later, the couple sought treatment again and welcomed sextuplets. They were overjoyed to find this out even though the pressure to take care of such a vast family was huge.

Kate and Jon Gosselin underwent a messy divorce and custody battle
Following allegations of cheating and infidelity on Jon’s part, Kate wasted no time in filing for divorce. Things had gotten out of hand for the couple and they decided it was best to call it quits. Kate wished to protect herself and her kids as she didn’t want anything to happen to their happiness. She said in a statement,
Over the course of this weekend, Jon’s activities have left me no choice but to file legal procedures in order to protect myself and our children.
What followed was a messy string of events that put the couple in troublesome situations. Jon went on to accuse Kate of abuse on TV while he claimed he was the one always taking care of the children. It didn’t help when Kate decided to go on Dancing with the Stars as it proved Jon’s point of Kate not being there for the kids.
After a nasty custody battle, Kate won the case and all eight kids were to live with her. Jon continued berating and accusing Kate of many things including keeping children away from him. Eventually, Hannah and Collin went to live with Jon full-time. Hannah revealed to Entertainment Tonight,
I chose to live with my dad, I feel like I just made the choice for myself. I have always been closer with my dad and we’ve always had a strong good relationship. It’s a lot, growing up in a very busy household with lots of kids. And there’s not really a one-on-one relationship, for attention, that you have with your parent. I felt like my dad gave me that attention and a feeling like I had a good solid relationship with a parent.
The case has been drawn out over the years as the couple engages in a sparring match publicly. They haven’t been on amicable terms since they split and the bad blood does not seem to go away anytime soon.
