“Who is this guy?”: Ryan Gosling Became a Creep to the Public After a Dumb Move That He Still Regrets To This Day
Ryan Gosling is one of the most popular actors in Hollywood, and he gained a lot of attention lately for channeling his K-energy in the promotional interviews of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie that has already touched the $1B mark, leaving behind Christopher Nolan’s biopic Oppenheimer and Tom Cruise Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1. Both of which are good in their own right.
Interviews with Ryan Gosling are always interesting given how fun and outgoing he is. In one of these hundreds of thousands of interviews that he has been in, he revealed one of the things that he regrets. Surprisingly, this regret has nothing to do with the fact that he wore a Darfur T-shirt to receive the MTV Best Kiss Award.
Ryan Gosling’s One Life Regret Involves Cookies
In a promotional interview for Gangster Squad with Jimmy Kimmel in January 2013, Gosling revealed the one regret that he has to this day involves Girl Scout cookies. He said that while walking out of Ralphs one day, he encountered kids who were trying to sell cookies and out of kindness, he bought them all which resulted in him having a car full of cookies.
Now, Ryan Gosling couldn’t have eaten all those cookies even if he wanted to, so he came up with the brilliant plan to throw them at the people on the street from his car’s window which was a very really nice gesture and made him feel like Santa Claus, until one person made him feel otherwise. He recounted the incident, saying:
“I would pull up to people at the stoplight and I would just throw cookies, you know. And then I looked at this one person, who was looking at me, and I realized that through their eyes, I was not Santa Claus, I am just a creepy cookie guy. Like ‘who is this guy? what happened to the Girl Scouts? why does he have all their cookies?’”
Cookies and regret usually don’t go together but that does not happen to be the case for Ryan Gosling who regrets buying a little too much of them. He still has a couple of boxes at home since he couldn’t give them all out due to the person who made him feel like a creep when he was only trying to be kind.

To make his character as realistic as possible, the Notebook actor insisted to have as many tattoos as he could including a face tattoo, something that can’t have in real life to avoid issues in his career. However, Gosling wanted to get rid of the face tattoo on the very first day of filming. Unfortunately, the director did not agree, and the Gangster Squad actor ended up having to appear in the movie with it.
