Interest in Xolo Maridueña is at an all-time high as the Cobra Kai star gears up for the release of his big DC break Blue Beetle this weekend.

The 22-year-old is set to play the role of Blue Beetle – the first official DC Universe character in James Gunn’s rejuvenated DC Universe – in the movie which follows the story of Jaime Reyes who gets his hand on an ancient relic known as the Scarab.

Having become the first Latin-origin actor to lead a DCEU movie, Maridueña has already done pretty well for himself, and he’s only going to make more waves following the release of Blue Beetle. As it always happens, more waves also lead to more unraveling of a star performer’s professional and personal life. For the impending wave of new fans that Blue Beetle will bring to Maridueña’s doors, we’ve taken a look at his love life.

Is Xolo Maridueña Dating Cobra Kai Co-star Hannah Kepple

Blue Beetle might prove to be the biggest career opportunity for Xolo Maridueña, especially if the DCEU movie turns out to be a huge hit. However, as of now, the majority of his fans recognize him through his portrayal of Miguel Diaz in Netflix’s action fiction series Cobra Kai.

Miguel is the prodigious student of Johnny Lawrence, but his talents aren’t just all spent in Karate tournaments. His love life is also an important part of the show. He initially dated Samantha LaRusso and was shown hung up over his break up with her before starting a fling with her rival and fellow Cobra Kai student Tory Nichols. This romance wasn’t plain sailing either and he was back with Sam in Season 3.

Interestingly, behind the scenes, Maridueña sparked romance rumors with Hannah Kepple, who played the role of the character named Moon. Things started to fly after the first season, and Kepple later confirmed they are dating, saying: “Well, I am dating Xolo who plays Miguel. Season 1, we were actually friends, a little flirty and then we started talking after season 1, and it clicked.”

However, their romance only lasted for about two years (2019-2021). Why they broke up remains a mystery, but the separation was supposedly confirmed when Maridueña and Kepple’s uploads on social media documenting their relationship were quietly deleted.

Who Blue Beetle Star Xolo Maridueña Is Dating Currently

Once things went quiet on the Maridueña and Kepple front, fans were quick to assume something was going on between the talented actor and her on-screen love interest Sam (Mary Mouser).

Fans dig their on-screen chemistry, and even Kepple was asked about Diaz and Sam’s romance in the show. Kepple insisted she’s a total fan of Migue and Sam, ruling out any suggestions of jealousy.

Interestingly the kissing scene that led to violent consequences in Season 2 happened at Moon’s (Kepple) party. Maridueña recalled the hilarious-but-awkward experience he endured during the kissing scene: “So I’m over here, shoveling packets of gum in my mouth, Listerine strips are constantly in rotation … so I lean in to the kiss, only to hear the best words one could hear when you are about to kiss your co-star. Mary, very silently and very timidly, says: ‘Xolo, I’m nervous, you’re like a brother to me.'”

These comments should be enough to deduce there’s nothing romantic going on between Maridueña and Mouser. Moreover, the 27-year-old actress had been rumored to be dating Brett Pierce.

As far as Maridueña’s love life is concerned, the Blue Beetle protagonist hasn’t been formally linked with anyone but Kepple so far.
