The second trailer of Marvel’s upcoming Eternals finally introduced Deviants to the MCU. But are they going to be the main antagonist of the film? Here is all that you need to know.

Eternals’ second trailer has finally reflected a glimpse of the villain the titular heroes are going to battle against. Directed by Chloe Zhao, Eternals will include Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Richard Madden, Lia McHugh, and Angelina Jolie. The MCU film is going to be bringing Jack Kirby’s superhero squad to live-action for the first time in history.

Though the titular characters are not what MCU could offer the best, the Eternals have appeared in some of the biggest Marvel comic events. Created by the godlike Celestials, the Eternals have existed on planet Earth for very long now. They have their own cities from where they defend humanity from some anonymous threats.

While Disney has now confirmed that Eternals will introduce the Deviants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the film may include some other villains as well. Thus, Deviants don’t need to be the only villain in the film. With that said, here is all you need to know.

Eternals Will Reveal The Deviants

In Marvel Comics, the Deviants are the real antagonists to the Eternals. As their name suggests, they vary in size, abilities, shape, and power as well. With that said, the final trailer of Eternals has given a hint that Deviants will play the antagonists in the film. As echoed in an official statement from Disney, Eternals will tell the story of “a group of immortal heroes forced out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s oldest enemy, The Deviants.” Thus, it would be very intriguing to discover whether the Deviants will be the only antagonists to the Eternals or not.

Celestials Could Also Be The Villain

The second trailer of Marvel’s upcoming Eternals also revealed a couple of Celestials. They included Nezarr the Calculator and Arishem the Judge. After watching humanity for around 7000 years, the Eternals are grown to protect and love them. But the Celestials, despite being nurtured by the Eternals, seem strict. Hence, the superheroes might fight off against the Celestials after breaking a rule to defeat the Deviants.

Is Druig An Eternals Villain?

Another possible villain could be Druig, a character played by Barry Keoghan. While he is an Eternal, Druig had a complicated history in Marvel’s Comics. He is popularly known for his selfish nature who is on a constant hunt for power. Because of his conspicuous appearance in the first trailer and absence from the second, there is a gut feeling that he could be very last trouble that the Eternals might have to deal with.

Who Else Could Play The Main Villain?

In addition to the Deviants, Celestials, and Druig, other possibilities include some Marvel characters that could show up as villains in Eternals. These include the Titanians, Uranians, Nightmare, Chthon, Mephisto, or maybe even Kang the Conqueror.

Eternals is all set to get its theatrical release on November 5, 2021.
