Spider-Man was certainly on shaky grounds for a while last year with the entire MCU-Sony mess. But now that Spidey is staying in the MCU for the foreseeable future, it’s time for Marvel to sort out what they want to do in Spider-Man 3. By this we mean that Marvel has to figure out which hero they want to pair Spider-Man with. While Marvel has some ideas of their own, by Tom Holland wants to work with someone else entirely.

Maybe along with a new partner, we can see a new version of Spidey too? Here are the ones we would love to see:

We have noticed that Marvel has a trend of teaming up Peter Parker with other heroes from the franchise. In Spider-Man: Homecoming he co-starred with Iron Man and in Far From Home he starred with Nick Fury. But who will be the wall crawler’s partner in Spider-Man 3? Well Marvel has these ideas:

The studio was initially playing with three names. This was Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel. But the limited dates of Cumberbatch and the uncertainty of whether he will actually renew his contract with Marvel or not has put a spanner in those plans. As for Carol Danvers and Kamala Khan, they are off until their respective solo projects. Moreover we think that Marvel would much rather these two crossover with each other since Carol already is a mentor and inspirational figure to Kamala in the comics.

Since there’s no one Marvel currently has in mind, so Tom Holland has pitched the person he wants as Spidey’s partner- Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man.

Tom Holland wants to work with Paul Rudd because he is a big fan of his. But it should be remembered that it’s just something Holland wants. Marvel hasn’t decided yet and is just looking at their options. So there’s no guarantee or official confirmation of any sort that Ant-Man will indeed appear in Spider-Man 3. But Holland has a lot of sway with Disney bosses as he was the one who helped reconcile Marvel/Disney and Sony when the Spider-Man dispute was at its peak. We can only sit and wait to see if Ant-Man actually shows up in Spider-Man 3 or if Marvel selects another character.
