Why Britney Spears Is Being Targeted By THIS Country
Pop star Britney Spears is under heat for supporting the people of Iran fighting for their freedom. The Iranian news agencies are digging up her past and slamming her for being under her father’s conservatorship for several years. Her husband, Sam Asghari, was born in Tehran and came to the US as a teenager. He regularly posts his opinions on the political matter on his Instagram account. Recently, Britney Spears also shared her thoughts and tweeted that she supports the people of Iran who are fighting for their freedom. Her tweet did not sit well with the Iranian media as they are now defaming her.
Britney Spears says she supports the people of Iran
This week pop star Britney Spears took to her Twitter to express solidarity with the Iranian protest movement. There has been ongoing protest across the country for nearly a month following the death of the young Kurdish woman named Jina Mahsa Amini. She tweeted, “Me & my husband stand with the people of Iran fighting for freedom.”

She is married to Sam Asghari, who was born in Iran but later moved to the US. He actively shares his opinions on the matter and even criticized Iran’s “terror regime” in one video.
The Iranian media is now defaming the singer
It seems like the state-controlled Iranian news agency did not like the singer’s tweet as they are now trying to defame the singer by broadcasting that she had been under her father’s conservatorship for several years and had mental health issues. It seems like they are trying to suggest that the singer isn’t qualified to make any statements on the country’s political matters.
Britney Spears is not the only one
Britney Spears is not the only one who went through this as the Iranian news agency previously blasted Colombian singer Shakira after she posted on her Twitter and Instagram that her heart was “with the family of Mahsa Amini and with the women and schoolgirls of Iran and with all those fighting for freedom of expression.” The media then posted a meme claiming that Shakira was ignoring police violence against women in the US and Saudi Arabia but speaking on their country’s political drama. The agency has claimed that celebrities are using their reach to share “fake news.”
Other celebrities like model Bella Hadid, singer Justin Bieber, and actresses Olivia Colman and Angelina Jolie have also stated that they stand with the Iranian people. Many celebrities have cut off some of their hair as a sign of solidarity. Nonbinary author Kim de l’Horizon, who is the winner of the German Book Prize 2022, shaved off all their hair in order to show support.
