During the premiere of the Gaga Chromatica Ball, Lady Gaga participated in a short Q&A session with Access Hollywood (via EW), where she spoke candidly about the packed stadiums and pumped-up crowds on The Chromatic Ball tour. Soon after, she surprised fans with a reveal: “I did five shows with COVID.” The New York City native explained her decision, stating:

I shared it with everyone on my team. I said, ‘I don’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable at work and you don’t have to perform and you don’t have to work that day, but I’m going to do the show’ because I just didn’t want to let all the fans down. And the way that I saw it also is like the fans were all putting themselves in harm’s way every day coming to the show.

Instead of gasps, the audience seemed to cheer for her dedication. They looked impressed by her commitment to the tour. However, the singer’s admission has divided her online fans.

Lady Gaga’s recent decision to perform on her 2022 The Chromatica Ball tour despite being unwell is getting mixed reactions from fans. Some praise her strong work ethic and commitment to fans who waited a long time to see her — especially after the tour’s delay due to the pandemic.

However, others are worried. They believe performing when sick put not only Mother Monster’s health at risk, but also exposed the audience and crew to the virus. With COVID-19 still a serious concern, these fans think she should have prioritized everyone’s health and postponed the shows.

The 2022 Chromatica Ball Tour was a big deal for the A Star is Born actress — marking her first ever stadium tour. It was a shorter run with just 20 dates, kicking off in Germany in July 2022 and wrapping up two months later in Miami.

Gaga Chromatica Ball will be available to stream on May 25, exclusively on Max.
