Poulter To Play Warlock In James Gunn’s Next
The actor addressed the announcement that he will be joining the MCU as Adam Warlock during an interview. He said, “I feel very, very lucky and very honored to have been welcomed into the Marvel family. Particularly into a franchise like Guardians of the Galaxy, which I regard to be incredibly creative and very, very unique. And James Gunn’s someone I really, really admire. So, I feel very lucky.”
When asked that whether or not he is ready to flex, he replied that he should better get ready and will soon start working on it. However, the announcement broke out last week that Poulter will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe with James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is set for a release in May 2023. See you in a couple weeks”.
Warlock’s Appearances In Marvel Universe
Created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, the character, Adam Warlock, got first introduced in 1967’s Fantastic Four #66 along with his re-appearance in Fantastic Four #67. Adam Warlock later made an appearance under Warlock moniker with 1972’s Marvel Premiere #1 by Gil Kane and Roy Thomas.
With that said, the character’s MCU debuted was awaited for a while and it was partly teased in both Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor: The Dark World. However, the most intriguing tease came in the mid-credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit the theaters on May 5, 2023.
