In an interview with E! News, Natalie Portman opened up about her family life and how she educates her children regarding societal injustice. Discussing the generational issue of the gender pay gap, Portman highlights meaningful conversations she had with her son and daughter.

Coming from the entertainment sector, where women are overly s*xualized and paid comparatively less than their male counterparts, Natalie Portman is well aware of societal injustice. Maintaining a perspective towards equality and voicing her passion for activism, Portman sits for an interview with the E! News. Discussing the gender pay gap, and women’s perpetual fight for equality, the Oscar-winning actress also gives an insight into her way of educating her children.

Sitting with Francesca Amiker, Natalie Portman expressed her opinions on the unnecessary disparity between the genders. Having an open mindset, Portman finds the generational injustice towards women extremely unsettling. “I think it’s equally important to have this approach towards people as equals—that men and women shouldn’t be treated differently and certainly not in the workplace,” Portman shared exclusively.

Natalie Portman’s Way Of Educating Her Children

Natalie Portman who shares two children with her husband Benjamin Millepied further expressed her way of teaching her kids. Speaking with Amiker, the actress discussed how her daughter Amalia Millepied, 6, and son Aleph Millepied, 12 are being specifically taught about the gender disparity in the workspace. Discussing the unnecessary pay gap, Portman shared, “Women deserved to be valued for their work and compensated for their work in the same way that men do and invested in, as well.”

Embracing the much-needed forward mentality, the 41-year-old actress co-founded the women’s soccer team Angel City FC. HBO is thus set to release a docuseries in May 2023, called Angel City, based on the soccer team. Therefore, while discussing her team, Portman shared, “We put so much heart and soul into building Angel City and really trying to value these players as they deserve,”. In an attempt to provide equal pay and abolish the ongoing pay gap, the actress shared, “we’re trying to create more access investment so that they can be valued more from equal pay to marketing.” 

Sticking to her work, and trying to bring a better change, Portman voices her opinions and keeps educating young minds, starting from her own house.
