The Fast and Furious franchise has been entertaining people for the past two decades. With the addition of each movie, the action franchise has become bigger and better. The franchise began in the early 2000s and has added ten films, the 11th installment is set to release in 2025. Throughout 20 years, Fast and Furious has included a lot of action and fast cars.

Actors like Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, and Michelle Rodriguez have served as the franchise’s main face from the beginning. The sudden death of Walker in 2013 made fans bawl for his character Brian O’Conner. Goodbyes are always harder, and there is a chance that fans might see Rodriguez leave the popular franchise after Fast X. The two-part sequel marks the end of the franchise.

Michelle Rodriguez to Step Back From the Franchise for the Next Generation

Michelle Rodriguez has been part of the Fast and the Furious franchise ever since it first started. She plays the character Letty Ortiz and has been by Vin Diesel’s Dominic Torreto side. The actress has played the female lead in the action-packed franchise.

Her new movie Fast X recently dropped into theaters and is loved by fans. The 10th installment in the franchise sees Dom and his family face off against one of the most terrifying and clod-blooded villains, Dante Reyes, played by Jason Momoa. After the release of Fast X, the 44-year-old spoke to Variety about the future of the franchise and shed light on her plans for her character.

The Assignment star revealed she will be taking a back seat after Fast X. She said,

“You pass the baton on. You take the back seat. You go passenger side. When it [be]comes the next generation, you have to. It’s the only way to let them define the future.”

With the announcement of a possible female spin-off after the conclusion of the franchise with the Fast X sequel it is hinted that the Resident Evil actress won’t be part of it.

Rodriguez’s character, Letty, made her debut in the first film, Fast and Furious, and was part of four installments of the action films. She was killed off by the end of the movie in a car explosion. Her character came back to the franchise in the sixth installment.

Vin Diesel Teases Fast and Furious Various Spin-offs

The fans have always appreciated female actors in the action-packed franchise. Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster served as the franchise’s female leads throughout its high-octane run. The ladies are smart, fierce, and strong and have done many car stunts. 

 The franchise ending with the Fast X sequel there are reports that it will have various spin-offs. Diesel confirmed that he is working on the upcoming Fast & Furious Projects, which includes a female-led spinoff as well. The actor mentioned that he had the idea of introducing the female-led spin-off in 2017. 

The new movie Fast X made its way into theaters and has already shocked fans with the return of Gisele, played by Gal Gadot, and Luke Hobbs, played by Dwayne Johnson.
