Gal Gadot is an Israeli actress widely recognized for her portrayal of the titular character, Wonder Woman, in the DCEU. Additionally, she also holds recognition as the winner of the Miss Israel 2004 beauty pageant. During her debut in Hot Ones, she discussed her experience as a beauty pageant queen.
Gal Gadot Reveals Joining Miss Israel Pageant for ‘Fun’

Gal Gadot made an appearance on the season 21 finale of the popular YouTube show, which was released on Wednesday. She joined host Sean Evans to eat tasty chicken wings covered in fiery flavors while talking about her success with the Fast & Furious franchise’s box office and her Netflix spy thriller, Heart of Stone. In the show, Gadot talked about winning the title of Miss Israel in 2004. She reveals that she had no intention of winning the Miss Israel beauty pageant, as she took part in the context of “fun”.
“When I went to Miss Israel in Israel, to begin with, I went for the experience and so I could tell my grandkids that grandma—and then I won, and that was shocking.”
The beauty went on to reveal that she never thought of winning the competition as she did not take her participation “seriously.”
Never intending to win the title, she remarked, “I participated for fun, and then suddenly— it’s amusing how at 18, you don’t approach things too seriously.” She also added that the only thing she enjoyed doing was the opening sequence dance.
Gal Gadot’s Journey, from Pageants to Hollywood Success

The actor previously spoke of how she never thought of becoming an actor to Sunday Today an interview with Willie Geist back in 2017. The pageant queen said that she never dreamed of becoming an actress before competing for Miss Israel. When opportunities came her way, she got curious and started to fall in love with the profession.
“I never thought about becoming an actress, and the opportunity kind of came my way,” she said. “I started to become more curious about it, and then I fell in love with the profession—but it wasn’t like I was growing up dreaming of becoming an actress.”
After receiving many rejections from Hollywood, she even considered going back to law school to support her family. When asked how close she came to quitting, Gadot answered, “I was very close.” At the age of 20, Gadot shifted her focus and began working as a combat fitness instructor for the Israeli Defense Forces as a part of her mandatory two years of military service. Her early training eventually helped her when it came to performing her cinematic stunts in her action-packed sequences, especially in the DCEU.

Gadot’s latest movie, Head of Stone, is streaming on Netflix from August 11, starring Jamie Dornan and Indian actress Alia Bhatt. She plays the role of an intelligence agent Rachel Stone, who is recruited by a shadowy corporation to protect a mysterious and dangerous device. The movie was filmed before the ongoing SAG-AFTRA negotiations that have currently forced Hollywood to a halt.
