London-born actress Emily Blunt is both British and talented. She was raised speaking the Queen’s English and was a proper British citizen. But when she started acting, as she might have once said, “arse over tits,” and then everything did change. She developed a more American accent while losing some of her British ones. Her transformation officially overstepped the mark in many of the films she has starred in. Blunt’s American accent has gotten to the point even if she would have tried to change it makes her sound positively insane.

However, she is adored for her realistic yet elegant style that appeals to people. This gives her a relatable and endearing quality.

Emily Blunt has always believed that her best performance came in her 2004’s debut film, My Summer of Love. She rose to fame as an actress and received praise for the coming-of-age drama act she played in this movie.

Although that ‘English trait’ contributed to Blunt’s success, it might also have had a negative impact on her reputation as well.

Emily Blunt Struggled to Accept Compliments Made About Her

Emily Blunt learned about the other side of fame after finding success in the film industry. She had the impression that she had offended some people along the way. She, therefore, made a lot of smiles in an effort to counteract her newfound reputation.

A Quiet Place actress once admitted that she usually ignores the negative feedback she receives by working hard to get more work.

Blunt found it as difficult to respond to those who praised her as she did to those who called her ‘rude.’ She revealed that praise sometimes only exacerbated her insecurities in an interview she gave to Stylist in 2010.

Being the one who must live with fear, she said, “It’s hard to accept the nice things that people say about you. I constantly feel like, ‘Oh my God, am I going to be able to do this?’”

It’s a really magical job, as she explained in an interview, she gave to Pop Entertainment in 2009, so the consequences that come with that can be both positive and negative. But as a result, she did land the job.

The Jungle Cruise actor also discussed how praise might even prevent someone from progressing in their field.

She Once Believed That Her Debut Film Gave Her a ‘Bad Reputation’

Following her appearance in the Pawel Pawlikowski film My Summer of Love, Emily Blunt attracted a lot of attention. The project, which also starred Natalie Press, was about the friendship that develops between two very different young girls. The fact that it was Blunt’s first full-length film helped mold her into the actor and movie star she would eventually become.

In a Vulture interview, she remarked, “It was such a weird little film, but the one where I learned the most because I hadn’t trained at all.”

However, not every audition proceeds as expected. Because of this, Blunt initially doubted that her performance was strong enough to land her the part.

The actress once told Britain’s Daily Express,

“Everyone says: ‘You’re a right bi-ch!’ But I’m honestly not. I suppose it’s the British accent and some of my work, like my first film My Summer of Love, where I played a devious girl. I try to smile and be as friendly as possible so people will go home and say: ‘You know what? That Emily Blunt isn’t nasty at all!’”

Her most recent endeavors serve as an excellent example of where she currently stands in the entertainment industry. She recently landed a starring role in the acclaimed Prime Video series The English, where she co-stars with Tom Hughes and Chaske Spencer and is clearly the cast’s leading star.
