‘You’re allowed to set a boundary…doesn’t make you demanding’: Meghan Markle Blasts Fans For Labeling Her As ‘Angry black woman’ Due To Her Constant Royal Family Clapbacks
Meghan Markle is reportedly scared of sharing her thoughts as she thinks she will be labeled as a stereotypical “angry black woman.” On Tuesday, the Duchess of Sussex told her Archetypes podcast guest, Issa Rae, that she is oftentimes afraid to share her opinions on a particular topic because she thinks she will be perceived in a bad way by the mainstream media. The Suits alum explained that she should be allowed to set boundaries. She also talked about the recent allegations that were put against her about her treating the royal staffers inhumanely. She is also currently working on her memoir which is set to be released soon.
Meghan Markle is scared of sharing her thoughts
On her podcast, the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle told her guest, Issa Rae, that she is scared of being perceived as a stereotypical “angry black woman.” She said,
“I’m particular. I think a high tide raises all ships. We’re all going to succeed, so let’s make sure it’s really great ’cause it’s a shared success for everybody.”
The Suits star explained she’s oftentimes terrified to share her personal opinion because of how people may react to it. She added,
“I will find myself cowering and tiptoeing into a room. You’re like, ‘Oh my God, stop. Stop whispering and tiptoeing around it. Just say what it is you need. You’re allowed to set a boundary. You’re allowed to be clear. It does not make you demanding. It does not make you difficult. It makes you clear.'”
The Duchess of Sussex then asked her guest whether she feels she’s “allowed to be angry.” Issa Rae simply replied, “Absolutely not.”
Meghan Markle was shocked to see that search engines reinforce racism
Meghan Markle further shared that she was “shocked” after reading the book Algorithms of Oppression, a book that explains how search engines reinforce racism. The book addresses the relationship between search engines and discriminatory biases. The author of the book argues that search algorithms are racist and perpetuate societal problems. “I was actually shocked. ‘Did you know this?’ I kept nudging my husband as we were sitting there in bed,” she said referencing the book.
The Duchess of Sussex was accused of mistreating the royal staffers
Recently, the 90210 star was accused of treating the royal staffers inhumanely back when the couple still lived in the UK. Many staffers revealed that she has brought some royal employees to tears while living at Kensington Palace. She has denied all the allegations saying that she was completely heartbroken as she has also been a victim of bullying. She got married to Prince Harry in 2018, but the two decided to step down from their royal duties in January 2020 and moved to California.
