Even though she has turned 85 years now, she is still as active as ever. The actress recently revealed the reason behind her extreme flexibility even though she was unable to get laid for years.

The 85-year-old actress, Jane Fonda made an appearance at the launch of H&M Williamsburg’s Move Studio in New York Wednesday night where she opened up about how working out became an important aspect of her life even though it was never in her regime from the start.

The star told the press as per PageSix at the event,

“I didn’t know that it was important to do ’til I was in my 30s. I had a ‘constant period’ all during school so that I couldn’t do gym — anything to get out of gym.”

She continued,

“It wasn’t until my late 30s [or] early 40s that I started to actually become active … [and] life before I was active, it wasn’t nearly as good as when I started to move.”

She added that her body started transforming once she get into it.

“I come from a long line of really depressed people, and the best way to fight depression is to keep moving.”

She also expressed how working out helps one in strengthening someone’s mental health. Not just mentally, her workout sessions help her get physically healthy.

The Barbarella actress went on to share her thoughts on being physically healthy.

Adding that one needs to “stay strong” she opened up about her personal life anecdote that is possible only because she has worked out for decades and has been following the same.

“I have a grandson who’s 3 years old, and I can still pick him up. I mean, I have to bend my knees and, you know, it takes a long time to get him up there, but I can still pick him up. You want to be able to carry your own bags.”

She further continued,

“You have to be able to, you know, make love. I don’t remember much [about that], but do I remember you need flexibility!”

Even though the activist no longer tries to do intense exercises given her age, she is still active and felt grateful for continuing the process for many years.
